Comments (40)Bon, I haven't had anything to add to this thread since I have no experience with GERD, but just wanted to say that I hope you are successful in getting the right medical diagnosis and then are successful in doing all the right things to correct the issue as well as you can in the most natural manner possible. My older brother suffered from ulcerative colitis for years without ever getting the right diagnosis until he was in either the later high school years or the early college years. (Granted, we didn't have the internet back then, so it was really hard to dig and research and find answers on your own way back then in the Dark Ages.) It is amazing how well most digestive issues can be managed nowadays with diet, some sophisticated medicines, etc. I am confident y'all will have success overcoming this health issue. Re: Pickles. Cucumbers are just that way. Tiny one day, gigantic Godzillas the next. I have to pick twice daily to catch them all while they are at the appropriate size for pickling, even though I normally do not make pickles daily. Well, I pickled cucumbers yesterday and I pickled peppers today, but I do not routinely pickle something every single day. Amy, I do find it interesting that the saltiness of brined and fermented foods often is not mentioned. I wonder why that is? I don't know if it is just because the people who eat those kinds of foods are so used to the salt that they don't think to mention it to others or if there is some other reason. We don't use a lot of salt in cooking, so when I ferment something, I do notice the higher salt levels when I eat it. Dawn...See MoreOT ))) I'm Still Kicking - And Fall Will Arrive
Comments (14)Luvs...just read your post..and Thank you for your caring words. I'm feeling much better, and I'm looking foward to being out and about again real soon. I see the Dr on Wed - to get an 'all clear' and can hopefully move on. Funny, the Witch has been sitting in the shed for a couple of weeks now..DH got her done real fast along with the cats. I was going to put her up this past weekend, but..you know why that didn't happen...lol Hopefully in a few days..as I promised the kids. As far as my Fall decos...I've got most done too. I think that's where I pushed too hard when I was feeling awful. Right now, I'm in bed, downloading pics to Photobucket and will be posting. Comments (28)I don't generally get sick often, either, but I'm used to "pushing through" whatever I've got because I have 3 kids, a PT job, 3 dogs...and a DH who works long (and inflexible) hours. I have now felt not-right for a month now, though, so on Monday I'm heading back to the doctor and asking to be tested for mono. I actually slept 13 hours last night, but I'm still dragging. Fortunately we are at our beach house in the pouring rain, so I'm just sitting around reading all day and watching the rain from the porch. DH commented to me earlier today "you never rest!" Well, duh. Since I arrived here 3 days ago with my youngest DD, I've emptied and "power washed" the porch, assembled 3 pieces of furniture, gone shopping, carried heavy night stands from garage to 2nd floor bedroom, and bought a headboard at a consignment shop with the intention to sand and repaint it before we leave on Sunday. Okay, maybe the headboard can wait. I don't know how to rest but I'm practicing today!...See MoreOT Lara trouble, again..
Comments (14)You do need one here too.. in theory... but in practice unless they are what is called 'controlled drugs' (e.g. new antibiotics, psychoactive drugs etc) you don't really...Which is NOT a good thing imo. Anyhow, any pharmacy will fulfill a vet's script for a human drug. A vet drug with the same drastic ingredient as a human drug may cost 10 times dearer....See Moreladybug A 9a Houston area
