Steve, I have supports that have 3 flat sides, like a long triangular shape. It opens so that I can position 1 side against the plant, then the second, then the third. I use these in self-watering containers and it works very well. I imagine you could get them on even a relatively large plant.

Hello everyone I want to thank everyone for such a warm welcome :-) . I am kind of addicted to forum. Learning from you all . when I am on the computer the forums are open und in the background is Helpmefind. sunnishine - you are right about being a great place , I have learned so much and learning everyday something new . Chris - thank you I have spent many hours reading the daylily forum , I have the daylily bug too . Sherry - you are right modern technology, it can be a pain in the ... and at the same time a great joy . The world at your finger tips. or just a phone call away. I have an internation flatrate and don´t hesitate to use it . I love to share and you find what you give comes back around and usally is better. Kathy - you are right about this forum , you all got me started again roses. Rainbow - you all are wonderful and what I have learned here is priceless . Julie and Karl - you both are absoutly right about the secerets and tips . some of them you can not use word for word but a litte of this and a litte of that and you have something the works for yourself . and yes Julie the friendships that develope . I am having luch tomorrow with a that called me out of the blue and asked a question about something in the garden , and guess where i got the answer , yepp here from you all . For me the garden is relaxing and not work . in the summer I am in the garden at 4 A.M. open the shop from 10-8 and back in the garden until dark around 11 P.M. I can sleep in the winter and get things done that I have neglected over the summer . Judith - I will give it a try . :-) Violet and Niecey - we have had the red lily beetel 4 years now . The first year they destroyed my liles , the second year I planted Crown imperial lillies. they bloom early then the foliage attracts the beetels before real lilles have really started to grow . Then I just spay with what ever is recomended for beetels and they are under control before the real lillies are attractive for them . The crown imperial also repells rodents . They smell like sweaty feet . The first sprig as they were growing I thought oh man my feet stink but I was the crown imperials . I even took of my shoes to snell my own feet but it was not me :-) it was the Imperials . Mendocnio - the world is a better place with beaatiful gardens . I alwas take time to smell the flowwer where ever I am rosantimo- a group hug is alway good LOL first of all sorry for my Denglich ( Deutsch- Englich ) I have been here in Germany to long and second sorry for the novel . Hue families, color notations and LRV is the tactical way to approach color. If you've read some of my stuff, you also know that I firmly believe that you cannot color by numbers alone. "Always remember that nobody accepts or rejects color because of numbers - it is the way it looks that counts." (Billmeyer 1970 and 1979) There is a balance of art and science with regards to color for the built environment; too much weight one way or another and it's like trying to juggle with one hand. Sure, you can do it but it's a heck of a lot easier with both. With that said... Do you think any of these colors would be good exterior colors? Yes. Which one is the best fit should be based on the fixed elements of the house: brick, mortar, stone, roof, etc. Which one looks right? Do you think either are too pink or green? Here are how the numbers stack up: Balanced Beige .44 Y / 7.25 / 1.49 ⢠LRV 46.0 Bleeker Beige 1.36 Y / 7.61 / 1.89 ⢠LRV 54.0 Jackson Tan 7.47 YR / 5.83 / 3.56 ⢠LRV 25.6 (color notations from The LoC color lab) About pinkness: all the colors, the two new and one old, are snuggled up around the 10YR mark. (see color wheel below). Odds of Balanced B. or Bleeker B. showing a pink overtone is unlikely because they are too far away from the Red Hue Family. About greeness: With colors from the yellow hue family like Bleeker B. and Balanced B., the lower the last number, chroma, the better the odds that a color could have some greeness with which to respond to a quality of light that also has a green characteristic. The direction of your house comes into play. The south and west sides are least likely to have a green quality of light to sync up with any greeness qualities in a paint color. Looking at the numbers and we know that Balanced B. with a chroma of 1.49 would be more likely to show an edge of greeness than Bleeker B. with a chroma of 1.89. I want light, but deep? Does that make sense? Yes. I'm assuming you've read up on LRV and will get this next part. The second and last numbers in a color notation combined are called nuance. In other words, value + chroma = nuance. Nuance is not the same thing as LRV. To evaluate "light" look at the LRV number. The higher the number, the more light a color will reflect. To evaluate "deep" look at nuance, value + chroma together. Both axes. Chroma - "Deep" colors will have an amount of chroma in the 2, 4, 6 range. -AND- Value - Comparatively, the lower the value number, the "deeper" the color. I ran into a problem after installing and using firefox for a few days. I was not able to open some videos. It would tell me I needed to update my Adobe Flash Player but when I'd try and do just that I'd get it started to install and it would tell me there was a conflict with Mozilla. So, I'd try using my IE to install the update the Adobe Flash Player and it would tell me that there was a conflict with IE. I came across a few more issues too so finally had to uninstall Firefox. I was very sorry to have to since it had eliminated the ads and popups on various sites I frequent. :( I did have to use IE for some of my stops but here or the news site I use, the adblocker plus was a real treat. Don't know what went wrong maybe someone would know. Also, I noticed yesterday evening, even after uninstalling firefox that the ads were still and not very many of them. Not so today, they are in full force like they were before I installed firefox. I'm so confused.
