Are you quilting this weekend? Aug. 30-Sept.2
Comments (22)Oh my! Once again I have some catching up to do. Linda - I'm so happy for your good news! I went through lots of testing with a cardiologist two years ago and know it can be terrifying! Theresa - congrats on the new GGD! 'Charlotte Anne' is a beautiful name. Rosa - good advice for all of us: if you think you need the emergency room, it's not a good time to drive yourself! If something happens in the car, you've got no one to help you. Call 911. Robby - Glad to know I'm not the only one here who refers back to the owners manual. I look up things all the time in mine. I also have a collection of seam rippers because they never seem sharp enough... maybe I use them too often? Sandra - wow! What a nice surprise, right? You'll have a blast with all those patterns. And I'm sure it was great for that quilter to be able to hand off those patterns to someone who appreciates them! My plans for the long holiday weekend don't involve quilting although I will be spending lots of time getting ready for the Retreat. Yesterday was just a goof around day. Today is laundry and house cleaning day. Tomorrow is packing day. Kate...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Oct. 25-27
Comments (25)Valerie, I tried doing the binding by machine in the past, but I didn't like the way it looked.... I only used the straight stitch though (but the machine had 294 stitches.... I don't even know how many the Nina has).... Maybe I'd like it better with decorative stitches. I should google some pictures of binding with decorative stitches and see how they look... I just don't like crowds and lines so that is the primary reason I avoid going to the Food and Wine Festival... it was fun the first time! For anyone who follows Bonnie Hunter's blog, did you see that beautiful vintage two tone New Home Paragon straight stitch machine that one of the ladies who took her class had? It was one of the most beautiful machines I think I've ever seen! I think I've really got quilt fever now because I'm starting to notice quilt patterns in floor tiles!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Oct. 4-6
Comments (17)I haven't popped in for awhile and since I was taking a break I thought I would see what you'll were up to. Sounds like everyone is keeping very busy with life. I won't be quilting this weekend. I haven't done hardly any quilting all summer. I was still gardening today and DH and I are going to dinner tonight to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. I did piece a lap quilt for a nursing home in Sept. Just a very scrappy D9P. I really didn't want to accumulate tons of fabric when i started quilting 2 1/2 years ago, but somehow I have. Can someone explain how that happens? So I've got three lap quilts started. I was cleaning the sewing room last weekend and came across fabric I bought to make two aprons, one for DS and one for a DF. So I'll want to get those done by Christmas. And I bought fabric to make DD a princess Lea outfit. Didn't want to do it, but I have a hard time saying no....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Sept. 2-4
Comments (10)I spent yesterday and the day before tying a quilt since the power was out Friday due to Hermine. The power got turned back on after I'd started so I just continued with it. Finished tying it yesterday while watching the Downton Abbey Marathon. Weather was still bad so nothing else to do. Also cut binding strips. But if the weather is better today I need to get up off my behind and be out and about for awhile. DH has no inside interests so he was absolutely miserable yesterday. He needs a break. At least I have a TV in the sewing room so that he wouldn't be subjected to hours of Downton Abbey! LOL! No, he'd rather watch those stupid shark sci-fi movies - UGH!...See Morenannykins
