According to the Forbes article from May shown in the link below (which I found by doing a Google search which you too could have done), Microsoft apparently announced some months ago that it was ending the existence of Windows Live Mail. I'm going to guess Microsoft sent emails to Windows Live Mail users and that you received one or more with this information.

The article says that mail accounts can be found at outlook.com and can be accessed using either a browser or a third-party mail program.

End of WIndows Live Mail

well I googled the hell out of this computer hunting my lost email account and found all kinds of stuff that I simply did not understand, Now whether I got an announcement from Microsoft announcing that it was ending windows live mail is debatable, because I don't remember getting it, but be that as it may,my whole e-mail account is lost in lala land and I cannot find it.

Did you go to outlook.com as suggested?

Don't get excited, they simply keep changing the name, WL is now back to Outlook, and I'm still using my addy from when it was Hotmail, so it is still there but now called Outlook, got it now?

I cannot get into outlook. they say I have an account, but I don't remember the password, and I cannot create a new account. Now what, and thank you for all your help.

At sign in do you not get, forgot my password? in which case they will send it to you? or simply open another E-mail account like Gmail, and they can send your pw there.

Passwords are important, best not to forget them.

A "Forgot my password" link is there. It doesn't help you?

well if I had an EMAIL they could send me my password, no other way to get my forgotten password, thanks.

Get a temp e mail
