Will it make it in the newspaper???

This morning when I opened my yahoo mail (that's where all my freecycle mail comes to) there was a post from a lady who works for our local paper. She was wanting "Freecycle" stories from the people who use freecycle.

So I sent her the one where I got a "stone wheel" that fit my stone grinder base, just a couple of weeks after the wind blew my grinder over, breaking my stone.

That was pretty unbelievable to me that someone would have a stone just sitting around, and that they wanted to give it away, just at the time I needed one. They are not an item you see everyday anymore.

I didn't tell them the story about needing a cot (for when my grandkids spend the night) because ours had broken. Then someone posted they had two cots to give away...I was excited. We drove clear across Omaha to get them...when we got there , the guy said he would get them for us. He brought them out and put them in the back of the truck for us...

Denny and I just looked at each other, not sure what to say. We just said politely said thank you and took the "cots" home. They were NOT cots...they were old army stretchers. The kind they would have carried their wounded on. We gave them to the Boy Scouts.

Do you have freecycle stories?
