re-doing a bedroom - where would you start?
Comments (6)When I'm doing bedrooms, I tend to choose drapes and match walls to them, because our bedrooms get used a lot and the bedding wears out and needs replacing, and I'm broke and tired and can't redecorate every time I need a new quilt. Not such a problem with a guest room though, although if you select distinctive adventurous bedding then the bedding becoming dated could eventually be. When I buy plain drapes with no pattern I also like the look of drapes and walls matching perfectly because it makes everything else in the room "pop" more. So maybe if you find drapes and bedding at the same time... put one on hold maybe while you search for the other... then once you've got those picked out, choose paint colour to suit?...See MoreMy $130. Comments (35)Good job,i like the black as well.Don't know if they still sell it but India ink works well on glass also. Love that bedspread !! I re-did my room last october and also did it for under 150.00,i didn't paint my furniture though, just the walls ,and got new bedding, made a new swag curtain, and for art i blew up my garden pictures on the computor. Mscsippy,i re-did an old 60's cedar chest early this year and i did sand that.It wasn't hard. The top was a little harder, because it had that veneer finish on it,but i still wouldn't say it was hard.It turned out well.I took it from a very light grey, almost white to a mahogany. Comments (25)You can get a headboard the same color as the dresser, and match the night stands with it. And based on the photo below, you can use the grays tones instead of the green. dark gray sheets and lighter gray on the walls, with some decoration in wood style. And do the decorations on the blue that she wants, with pillow, a rug, curtains......See MoreReady to redo the bedroom
Comments (4)IMO the night tables are too small scale for a king bed. If you like to sit up and read in bed I would not do a fabric headbord unless it is really tough and can withstand washing often As for wall color IMO you choose bedding ans that drives the wall color but in this case that color is quite neutral so look for bedding that has a least a bit of that color in it. I like the art but not the lamps . The art needs to be hung lower IMO...See MoreRelated Professionals
