Nice vanity and top for $800 or less?? Is it possible? (36')
Comments (18)Check both Home Depot and Lowe's for vanities in their special order departments. They have options that are not on the floor and not in stock, but usually come in about two weeks or so, and the prices are excellent. Also, both places sell granite vanity tops in a pretty good array of standard colors in several common sizes -- way, way WAY cheaper than going to a stone yard, because they buy in such bulk. I am pretty sure 36" is one of their standard sizes -- I was looking at 30" so I'm not positive, but I think it is. Definitely check out these options before buying elsewhere. If you have your heart set on some special granite color, it might not work, but as I recall they offered about 6-10 basic colors, like absolute black, blue pearl, some kind of gold, etc. Nice basic colors, and you absolutely cannot beat the price. For me, the price would definitely be worth choosing one of their color options -- and the options are actually pretty good, so it's not as if it's a big sacrifice or anything. Good luck!...See MoreNew Show HGTV'd....leather floors?
Comments (61)House Hunters International, yes, I love seeing the ones that are not tropical. We are amazed at how much you can get a house for in a tiny little town in Italy... we're like "We could afford that!!" Course the ones we could afford need major work, LOL. Agree with everyone on Color Splash Miami... if I could call him on the phone, I'd beg him to go back to San Francisco. I love David Bromstad, but can't stand his show anymore. His helpers have zero personality. While I think it's cool that his design assistant is someone who I think just got her degree, so she's kind of an intern, I really miss Ian and Danielle. The two women on this show don't do anything that requires skill, all they do is shop and answer cell phone calls that say stuff is not coming/going to be late. And the two men who actually have skill have no personality and rarely talk to the camera....See MoreCan I be any more forgetful?
Comments (57)Got news for ya, folks ... (bad news, I fear) ... it gets worse. Some time ago, at the coffee shop after the monthly investment group meeting, I'd said that I was worried as to whether I was skating on the edge of the Alzheimers rink ... ... and a guy sitting across from me, with whom I've had a bit more than the usual connection, and who's had quite a lot to do with Alzheimers in his family, looked at me and said, "Ed - you don't have to worry about Alzheimers!". Which warmed my spirit ... until I though that his (diagnosis) ... mjght be somewhat of a temporary reprieve. ole joyfuelled (so far)...See MoreJanuary 2021 Week 1
Comments (72)I just went into my seed starting room, looked around and walked back out closing the door behind me. How can anyone let a place like that get into such a mess?? I have sweet potatoes from summer before last. The still look okay, but why eat them when I have last years crop sitting there also? I may have to grab a couple and cook them just to see what a very old sweet potato taste like. I also have winter squash and pumpkins in there also. I have a good supply of jars over at the old house, I wish I were able to can food. But I may never get able to can again, but that is okay, that is the hardest part of gardening anyway. The sun is out, but still pretty cool, 37*. I plan on picking some mustard when it gets a little warmer out. It felt so good to get out a little yesterday. I drove around in the wildlife garden, went down and tried to put a cow back into the pasture. I am not able to chase the cows on foot, but the rtv can run about as fast as a cow can. All though I dont chase them, but I do try to work them down to an area where I can open a gate and run them in. The cows belong to the guy that has the place rented, but I enjoy getting out and checking on them. I think that there are too many cows in the pasture, but that is how a lot of people operate. If I were raising cattle I would starve to death because I would over feed them, I would have other people's cows trying to break into my pasture. It is still 37*, but I think I will go pick some greens, it wont take long to pick enough for two people to eat. We had a wonderful lunch yesterday, salmon patties, potato salad and raw vegetables, I hope we have leftovers from that today....See Moredesignsaavy
