I realize it could just be me, but I enjoy the look of non-matching furniture in a bedroom, so many of the total suites I've seen remind me of hotel rooms. I'd much rather see things you've accumulated, love, blended, and as long as they speak to each other in some way, or speak to you. Years ago when I needed bedroom furniture all at once I bought a 4-poster bed and nightstands (not identical nightstands/lamp tables, one in one style and the second in another) in whitewashed pine, then two bachelor chests with mirrors and a highboy in natural pine. I'm using those in our new master now and have added a small dark Drexel lamp table with a bit of hand painting on the front. It used to be in my former living room and I loved it, scale was too small for this house living area and now I'm enjoying it in my bedroom with my pine.

lesterlan, I did a custom piece for a customer on a 70's dresser. she requested Hale Navy. I might have had this shade color matched because it came out a big lighter. But here it is w/gold hardware. Urbane Bronze is another nice shade. I did this mid century piece in it if you post a pic of the dressers you want to paint, maybe I could suggest something.

I didn’t read all the responses but you could certainly use a different bed with your furnishings. We have a cherry set paired with a dark wrought iron bed. We have one matching night stand and one coordinating. I also like skirted tables in bedrooms and that’s what I did for quite a few years before finding the current coordinating stand. The additional fabric can be a nice change and another way to interject color/pattern/texture into a room. I think it’s best if the night stands are at least up to the top of the bed sides or higher. I do like my lamps to match in the bedroom but all the above is merely opinion. Honestly, at the time the reason we went with an iron bed is the cherry one I fell is love with was just too large for the room. Years later I’m very glad we made the choices we did. The furniture still makes me smile. We do have a queen bed though. With the size of mattresses being huge, I don’t know how challenging it would be to find night stands that came up high enough on the sides. Surely they make them but, your current ones may end up being too short. Pretty furniture!

That may be a difficult color to work with. What color and type of floors do you have? What color are the walls? What are you planning for the bedding? If you painted them all blue, you could use white walls and bedding, with additional colors in your art and lamps.
