Want to help me choose accessories for blank slate bedroom(s)?
Comments (5)whenicit, Thanks, but I need LOTS of help! The other advantage to the 2nd layout in BR1 is that the headboard is rather high and if I put it along the wall, it won't block the windows which would probably be better. I'll see about adding seating when I get the beds assembled. We may have room and it would give me a project to scour antique shops. That is what I'm planning on doing for a nightstand in the second bedroom. A little shabby/chic, beachy. I was going to look through some "Real Simple" magazines for inspiration. I'm not sure exactly what I want yet, but I though a "weathered" table, perhaps in a fun color, would go nicely with the iron bed. ajsmama, Thank you for the suggestion on BR1. I agree that swaping the nightstand is much better. On BR2, I think I could move the dresser closer to the door. The only think I actually don't like about the dresser in that position in general is that I'm not fond of the look of it from the side, but no mater how far forward or backward it is, I'm going to have that problem... Thanks for all you help! Jaymie...See MoreBeach farm house bedroom - painted furniture
Comments (13)lesterlan, I did a custom piece for a customer on a 70's dresser. she requested Hale Navy. I might have had this shade color matched because it came out a big lighter. But here it is w/gold hardware. Urbane Bronze is another nice shade. I did this mid century piece in it if you post a pic of the dressers you want to paint, maybe I could suggest something....See MoreBedroom Furniture Dilemma
Comments (10)I think it’s all the white giving it hospital vibes. You could keep it that color and change the room color. It’s very bright with everything white. You could do a couple different things with the furniture. Sand them down and start over with a warmer white or even do a gray wash....See MoreBedroom paint colours - 2 bedroom apartment
Comments (8)@acmI am in your ballpark. I have a lot of bedding and switch it out regularly. I pick my bedroom and bathroom paint colors based on what I like and what works with the rest of the house, then I select bedding that works with the bedroom paint color. I do agree with getting your sofa before deciding color in a living room paint color - don't replace my sofa often and color choices are more limited. Same with some other choices - kitchen cabinets, flooring, counter tops. Those stay for a long time and I will paint again before replacing those....See Morecat_ky
