What Perfumes are you wearing?
Comments (82)How does Lauder sell a single bottle of Youth Dew? I truly wonder. Have never heard one person say a kind word about the stuff...ever! When I was about thirteen years old, the lifeguard at our community pool, Chris, about 18, so cute, and my "buddy," came over to me and started whispering about some ladies who were visiting the pool that day. He said, "...and one of them has on a perfume that I know must be Youth Dew! Yick! It's the worst perfume in the world. My mother was given a bottle and she wore it once, but she never will again, because she hated it, and my dad and I told her to wash it off it smelled so bad!" I do love woodsy, exotic fragrances, which I think YD is trying to be, but it misses the mark somehow. Maybe it's just too much of a good thing...no nuance or subtlety?...See Morenew kordes roses: Summer Romance and First Crush
Comments (79)@Liz Bell summer romance prefers full sun here in the south and they do not burn in all day sun. As long as they get 6 or more hours of sun it does well Mine got afternoon dappled shade after 1 pm from a nearby tree until the sun shifted enough in late afternoon to provide more direct sun. So if your areas can provide at least 6 hours it should be great. Kordes here seem to prefer all day sun compared to Austin’s. Our zones are probably not very different since I am in alabama...See MoreWondering about Summer Romance
Comments (122)Summer Romance spotted at Home Depot in the Seattle area for $12.98 in 1.5 gallon pots, nice sized, probably own root. I planted Summer Romance last fall as a young plant from Roses Unlimited. This spring the plant has grown nicely and is starting to bloom in my Pacific Northwest garden. The scent is incredible. The blooms are beautiful. The bush is really healthy and beautiful. Love this rose....See MoreVoluptuous, perfumed and procumbent.
Comments (79)Thank-you for those extra photos Tiffandrew. Strawberry Hill looks good too. I am looking forward to growing it up a pomegranate tree with Spirit of Freedom. I find that the older I get, the more roses I need. There is a philosophical debate for you! hutchae, the rose on the wall was bought as Felicia, but it is not that rose. I believe it is Cornelia. It blooms a lot in the spring and early summer and again in the autumn. It also has a few blooms during the summer. It does have a lovely perfume. I will look to see if I have more photos of it. The purple flower in front is one of the Verbena x hybrida. They come in a variety of colours and are very useful in pots and at the front of beds. Daisy...See Morevasue VA
