Yes you can't overfill or shut the door quickly. I have a different problem...I often notice water in my FS dispenser and if I do put it in it ends up with water in it and I think some over flows, I don't always use FS but when I do I put it in right before the rinse starts, after I extract the water..like this.

It's common that water remains in the bleach and/or softener cups (and sometimes detergent). That's not supposed to happen but it does. Premature detergent release isn't so much a problem (unless one is using a delay-start function). Early release of bleach or softener is a problem, and will occur if there's residual water that raises the content level above the siphon point of the cup when the product is added. The residual water must be emptied before adding the product.

My whirlpool duet washer puts the detergent

Into the drum as soon as I close the dispenser door. I cleaned the dispenser good. Any ideas to why?

Not without details such as what kind of detergent (liquid, powder, or other) and which model Duet. Photo of the open drawer, perhaps both without and with detergent loaded, also be helpful.
