My nephew (a university student) works summers at the Insectarium in his home town. The CBC news did this nice little video of him at work. He's a great guy and will be spending his fall semester in Colorado (Grand Junction) as part of an exchange program.

Could hardly watch the video because it brought back some hairy memories from earlier this summer. I was walking my little lurcher when he came upon a stack of concrete blocks and stuck his nose in to investigate. He immediately did the Teaberry shuffle five feet backward through the air and ropes of thick mucous and froth flew from his mouth. He was stung on his upper lip and we flew to the vet as fast as my little red toaster car would move for emergency treatment. Iv steroids and two weeks on prednisone and a little bit of scorch on the plastic card. Found a hornet nest nearby and just one sting was enough to set off a really severe reaction.

Wow! You guys are awesome. I am going to go with the Cameo White. And for everyone who loved the bedding, it's onsale right now at Pottery Barn! It's called Sydney. les917 - our furniture is all hand-me-down right now, and will remain that way until we get our budget in check. We have a walnut-colored headboard, plain and simple. Nothing exciting. We're going to reduce the number of furniture pieces in our bedroom, since we finally have a closet big enough to fit our clothes into! The flooring will be carpet...a freize that is beig-y and has darker flecks in it. Thanks again for everyone's input!

I have never done it and don't know the parameter, but (I'm sure you've noticed) there's an attachment that says video. Maybe I'll try it and see what happens. : )) OK, you have to have a youtube or Vimeo URL. Hmmmm.

Oh, I would so love to have that handsome young man show me all those fascinating creatures. What an interesting job to have, and he obviously like what he is doing. He has a bright future. Thank you for sharing.

Great video--you must be very proud! We lived in Grand Junction when our kids were small. I have a feeling your nephew will appreciate the black widow spiders more than I did. ;)

Great! Wish we had one here. I remember our youngest son was keenly interested in insects. I remember him telling me not to step on the ants outside our house when he was 4 or 5.

Ha mamagoose, maybe so! He loves hiking and I think he's going to enjoy his semester there.
