Comments (10)After slipping on a plastic mat with suction cups that didn't grip the tub, I bought non-slip shower treads on Amazon. They're made by a company called SlipX Solutions. Several posters on GW recommended them. They're fabulous: clear, not too visible, clean easily, and best of all provide excellent traction. I highly recommend them....See MoreBath towels, shower curtain and bath mat
Comments (7)FYI, RH extended their F&F sale another day (thru today?). Included in the 20% off sale, are towels, bathmats,..... I use their towels and bathmat in the MB ("my" bathroom--DH uses our hall bath). Mine are white (bathroom has white fixtures and wall tile, pale blue walls, and a black-stained vanity, floor tile, and window shade). I use AHA products, including face wash, and those are no-no's with the dyes used for their colored towels. No problems with the white towels. I have the reversible (cotton) bath mat. It remains thick and plush for a long time (I have three sets of towels/mats that get rotated after each wash, which is done weekly). HTH!...See MoreMy bath mats smell like printer's ink.
Comments (14)Depending upon the country of origin [where they were made] that "aroma" may be from a pesticide spray used by the manufacturer to prevent pests from invading either the raw materials or the finished product. Personally, I'd return them and look for another manufacturer. This type of aroma is becoming quite a health issue these days...especially from certain countries. For those who are less physically sensitive to this type of thing, it might not be a problem. But to someone like me...I'd have several types of reactions to the product...not the least of which would be a lung problem...as in asthma. I discovered this when I bought a catalogue clothing item that gave off the same type aroma. No matter how often I washed it, it never quite rid the fabric of the aroma. Comments (12)Larsi, it's such a long walk to and from my Little Giant (from my upstairs office, 2 flights of stairs plus 50 horizontal strides each way i.e. half a Manhattan city block) that I don't observe it as consistently as I'd like. The Little Giant Cottons Universal video I posted on YouTube does conform to what you said. I believe that Automatic Load Control varies the rinse level depending on load size and perhaps other factors. My Asko Pro Series washer was actually even more generous with rinse water, in rinses that were part of a wash program. Maybe that was to make up for the omission of some inter-rinse spins. On the other hand, the rinse-only program used very little water, tumbled for a very short time, and did only one rinse. 36vintage, if you've been washing a bath tub mat every week without problems, it can't be just luck. An old and deteriorated mat would be a bad bet, but you don't seem to have those. Washing every week, there isn't much time for soap scum to build up. My mat hadn't been washed since it was new, and that was, um, more than a week ago. I don't know if the 130F wash contributed to the stuff sticking instead of washing away. I don't think it's hot enough to decompose the mat itself....See MoreAnnette Holbrook(z7a)
