We just got back from the mountains in Colorado and New Mexico. The temps were great although a little hard to breathe because of the altitude. Now that we're back and dealing with heat, we will be reserving our outdoor activities for the late afternoon and evenings. We may venture out for a water park, but no trips to the ocean until cooler weather. I'm a bit scared of the flesh eating bugs.

We've had so many days in the 90's that I've lost count. The "real feel" temps have been in the 100's. The humidity is the worst part....just can't breathe out there. We stay inside and stay cool with ceiling fans and the air conditioning.

Was 96 yesterday here in south central PA. When you walk outside the air actually feels "heavy" it's so humid. Hard to take a deep breath. This weather always made my mother suffer terrifly. She had severe asthma. Couldn't take the humidity. I can't either. I freaking HATE this weather.

Summer is the only season I HATE with a passion and have for many years. I cannot take the heat and I'm an outdoor person. I am literally outside more in Jan. than now. It was 100 at our house, real temp with heat index at 110. At noon it's over 90 and climbing to the same today. Our car said 106 yesterday. We literally have had not one drop of rain in weeks so the whole state is going into a severe drought except Lancaster County which seems to get all the rain. I physically get sick being outside so I walk the dog at 11 PM and it's still hot. I worry about the animals and have 14 birdbaths filled at all times. Some of mine have 50 bees in them at one time(from my hives). Also small critters drink and bathe there. I cannot wait to winter.

Well being here in North Houston I can assure you it's freaking crazy hot. You walk out and it takes your breath away it's so hot. We got out yesterday to go run errands and pick up some stuff then eat out. By the time we got home we were absolutely drained and snapping at each other. It just makes me grumpy, him too. I don't know if the weather is contributing but I am hurting really bad all my joints especially my hips. I need to get to the chiropractor. It's currently 91 not sure what the feel like is but definitely triple digits.

Last Thursday, a crew of seven came to my house to remove the single-pane windows that were installed when the house was built in 1982. At one point, there were four windows out and ready to be replaced with the new ones. Not much I could do about all the heat that came into the house. They were done by noon, but it took several hours to get the inside temp back below 80. I am sure that we will save money with these new double-pane windows. No grids either and straight out view!

Oh yeah, nothing below 90 during the day and nothing below 76 at night. Dew points are generally in the mid-70s. We still have August and September to go! I guess I ought to plan a cruise.

Raven...everyone is in a foul mood and snapping at each other. We all feel miserable, and there is nothing we can do about it. In the winter I can put coats and sweaters on, in the summer with a tee and shorts on, not much more I can do except go naked. Not a pretty sight .

I feel your Pain! It is the one time of the year (for me) to brag about the weather here in Southern Oregon. Summers can be The Best. Even hot, and in the 90's the humidity is perfect and, unless we have fires (which happen too often) delightful. We do get a few over 100 degree days that feel like the desert....then the coastal breezes begin. Remind me (if I forget) of this post when I am complaining about the rain that seems to never stop during the late winter. We have been really enjoying our patio every day and well into the evening....no mosquitos either. Life is good.

I count my blessings every day that I live where the temps rarely get out of the 80's. Of course, with no A/C, even temps in the 80's can be uncomfortable, but the temps always cool down at night. I have houseguests arriving today, so I got up at 6 a.m. and made potato salad, sugar snap peas, a strawberries and cream dessert, and fresh lemonade. I will grill chicken breasts when we are ready to eat which won't take long and will keep the house cooler than if I tried to cook a whole meal.

I hope the weather cools off for the rest of you. Our hottest days are in August and September and I'm not looking forward to that. I get grumpy, too, when I'm overly warm and I know I don't sleep as well.

It was 72º before 7 a.m. this morning. We went into town & my husband stayed outside with our dog in the shade while I went in to the store.

It was mostly in the lower to middle 90's when I left Florida, but knew, it was HOTTER in Oklahoma.

Have had triple digit heat index for past several days... could go into tomorrow or Tuesday. Yesterday, seemed like every 15 minutes of so, that sever t-storm warning was blaring on the TV. The high winds, quarter-sized hail, roof/tree damage... luckily didn't materialize though it di get really dark a few times.

I like summer but frankly, ready for fall. With no $$ to speak of, what good is 8-10 weeks of no work anyway. I was ready for school to start back up again after the 4th.

We have actually had a summer here lol! Couple of nice days followed by a few days of rain.. A couple more nice days.... The high this week is forecast for the high to be mid 20's Celsius which would probably translate to about 80 F. Of course we would not do without double pane windows, thinking of replacing them with triple pane to conserve energy in the winter.

Yesterday--Saturday. It was tough. Not humid though. Today a few days cooler. We have a lot of summer left.

I can't do anything outside, I'm not used to sitting in the house all day and night even in winter. Today I went grocery shopping I think to just be able to ride in an air conditioned car. When I got home and opened my house door, the heat hit me in the face. I hate to see my electric bill next month after running these fans practically 24/7.

We had a hard rain awhile ago but it didn't last long. Maybe will have another go overnight.

When its hot I just get in the pool or stay inside. I love the hot weather it feels great on my skin.

I was sawing a tree down, sweating from the heat....then checked the temp....it was 78! ha Suddenly I felt cooler. I'm a wuss! :0)

For those who worry about their electricity usage during this weather, the things that use the most power either heat things up or cool them down. Refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, air conditioner, electric dryer, electric water heater - those are the villains! A table lamp, fans, clock radio, TV and more are the ones that don't suck up power.
