i love the scent as well (fresh spring waters). can anyone tell me if they are safe/ok to use in my miele touchtronic w 4840 washing machine??

@Samanthayoung OF COURSE they are. They totally dissolve and are naturally based. I have used scent crystals in several Miele and Electrolux machines. 100% benign!

George. .I'm not one for much scent, I even mix my flavored FS with unscented, but toda y I picked up one of your Purex Fabulously Fresh scent crystals, can't say I was bowled over by the scent in the container...I did a load of Amiees cotton summer PJ's, hot water, Tide F&G Pod and your Purex crystals..oh and a small dose of Downy Free...these pj's smell delish. Very light and delicate almost like sitting outside on a clean night and you think you smell something light and fresh on the breeze. Tomorrow I'll use them on Amiees bedding. I generally like no scent on my sheets but I'm going to try them on my sheets also...Thanks for sharing this find George.

Let me also add..I just took a red and white blouse of mine out of the washer ( think picnic table cover) lol..I used ALL free liquid and the Purex Fabulously Fresh Crystals..heavenly.

Right MamaP? Georgect found a GEM for us. I have many bottles of Bounce Bursts or Downy in wash scent booster and I have reached for these Purex crystals almost every time!

The scent they leave after tumble or air drying is light, clean, fresh, natural and incredibly pleasant!!

I have my duvet cover in the washer now, a nice long hot wash with the Purex crystals. I used a Tide F&G Pod as to not mix scents. The only time I ever have scents on bedding is if I use a light mist of linen spray during ironing and that's rare. I hung Amiees pj's up wet last night to air dry, indoors, they get a quick press off, but I keep sniffing them, yum. LOL

PS. I have a load of bsth towels to do later and I'll usevthe Crystals on them and see what the family thinks.

Is it true that scent boosters are made out of clay?

This is what I love about the crystals, the fragrance is light but noticeable.

Like someone is drying their clothes on the line in the neighborhood and you catch a faint whiff of it.

Of course you can control how much scent, a little or a lot you want by adding 1/4, 1/2 or full cap to the wash.

Mama - I've never looked at the P&G scent boosters but the purex are bentonite clay and fragrance. Same as the dropps boosters.

I tried these for the first time on Friday. Thank you, George! I love the smell, I don't care for perfumes but this is just a fresh scent!

I have never used these type of boosters, but am tempted by these reviews. Does one use these in the detergent drawer, or where the fabirc softener goes? Thanks!

enduring....Our 3 local Target stores do not carry any Purex Crystals. Walmart, Ralph's/Kroeger and sometimes Vons/Safeway have them!

These just get better!!! I added a cap into the canister of my Dyson upright and a cap into the bag of my Miele canister vacuum!

I can't seem to find these in NYC. On Friday I will be in Long Island and try the large suburban supermarkets. Maybe they aren't available on the east coast.

Bentonite clay is in the ingredient list of one of my fav powder detergent, tide w a touch of downy clean breeze. I'm really thinking the "downy" is just a scent booster in this powder and not an actual fab softener. But I don't care, I still love it. That being said, I'm going to have to give these crystals a try now, you guys are such a bad influence lol

They made my laundry smell amazing!!!

I've been lurking for a while now. This made me sign up. I'd been looking for a replacement scent to the yellow bottle Purex discontinued in my area. After seeing everyone else coo about this one I figured I'd grab it when I went out for a snack tonight and pop it in the last wash. It was sold out at the first grocery I stopped at so then I knew I had to try it. wow on the lowest line my whole laundry area smells like it. I tried it with Dollar Tree Blue bottle oxy detergent and their island fresh fabric softener. Thank you for the suggestion.

Welcome Betty Bird. I still haven't had the opportunity to pick this up. Where did you get yours? I know several above mentioned Walmart. I have yet to get there for this item. looking forward to it though.

At Kroger's it was sold out,they had a new limited edition right beside it,so Walmart is where I found it in two different sizes. The more I sniff I think it reminds me of a laundry soap my mother used when I was a child that had free towels in the box. The smell is way stronger to me in a good way.

I finally found the Purex Crystals Fabulous Fresh flavor. I went to Walmart, 2 different Targets, Stop and Shop and finally found them at Shoprite. I haven't tried them yet. I will in an hour or two after I recover from the stifling heat outside. I must contro myself, everytime I read about a new product on here I must try it. I'm begining to have a stash and that is not conducive to city living. LOL. No more buying till I use up 2/3 of what I have. (I hope).

Is it better to use a fragrance-free detergent with these crystals? Or, is there a favorite detergent to use with? I am sensitive to smells....so will take advice from this amazing group!

I've used them with a few different detergents and it plays well with all of them.

But my sniffer isn't sensitive.

I picked some up yesterday finally but haven't done any wash yet. Can't wait to try them out. I love yummy smelling laundry :-)

As promised my fragrance report-I wasn't sure how much to use, so I used 1/2 a capful on a load of white bath towels. To keep the fragrance pure I use All Free and Clear and no softner. It kind of reminded me of the smell of laundry from my childhood. We lived in an apartment building with a central laundry in the basement with these amazing huge racks that pulled out from the wall. You placed your wet laundry on the long bars and pushed it back into the wall which was heated by an adjacent far wall of gas jets. I used to help my mom as she collected the dried laundry. I wish I had a picture of that large wall of drying racks, I was fascinated with them as a child and still wonder how unusual the racks were. Excuse me for my walk down memory lane.

Finally tried them. Love them. Will buy again and wouldn't mind trying the other scent. I found mine at Wal Mart.

I have tried the other scents but this by far is my favorite.

Sorry to say, I do not like this smell. I have done some guest bedding in it, for the upcoming deluge of family for DD wedding next weekend. I am going to rewash it, cause every time I walk in the room where it sits, I don't like it. Sorry to say.

I haven't smelled this one yet. Although.. I will admit, I'm a huge fan of the smell from the Fresh Spring Waters one. I haven't used it in a while, but when I did, I'd use about a tablespoon with nice Powder Detergent.

Also.. the Purex Fresh Spring Waters Liquid, is wonderful if dosed right for bedding. :)

Used the Purex Crystals on all of my DS's bedding today. His room smells so good.

....less is more!! After being overpowered with a third of a cap first try, today I barely used a teaspoon, and it was perfect....

Mine was missing the cap and I'm using a little blue scoop that came in a small container of Oxiclean. I could see a full scoop of the Purex lid being WAY to strong.

Tried the Bounce Outdoor Fresh crystals, very little, maybe a tsp....loving, loving. Used with the Foca powder. Very subtle, fresh and not at all perfumey (which I felt the Purex crystals were...)

Jill, Maybe ill try those in the future. I don't like perfumey smells. Scents that are water, woodsy, herbal, are all fragrances I do better with. Though I love the smell of gardenia.

I do however really, really like these Purex ones too. I just bought another bottle yesterday. I switch off between the Bounce and Purex. I also have the Downy April Fresh Odor Protect scent booster, and it smells good used sparingly!!!

@JC...I haven't found the powder detergent in "Fabulously Fresh" scent, just liquid. WalMart had two powders but not the "Fab Fresh".

Larsi, how long does the scent last in the vacuum? I like that idea. I had some ones from Fresh Wave that were pretty good.

I empty the canister in my Dyson about every week or so, and they still smell great!!

I've got two Miele vacuums. I'll try them in one and see how it goes. The bags do get a moofy smell after a bit before I change them again.

I add about a half cap of Bounce Burst to my Miele bag when I change it and the staying power is pretty impressive. It helps cover up some of the unpleasant scents in the bag, even though I use a charcoal pet filter on the exhaust.
