(I said I pulled this from THEIR site) The fact that you would compare Healthy Child Healthy World or the Environmental Working Group to a "Craigslist posting" shows you have no knowledge whatsoever of them or their work. They are legitimate organizations staffed with scientists, doctors, engineers, CEOs, etc and they do reference specific studies (but youd actually have to go to the site and read it). The report prompted a front-page story in the Washington Post and spurred the Environmental Protection Agency to begin denying some confidentiality claims. Regulators in 13 states asked Congress to crack down on excessive secrecy. EWG senior scientist David Andrews briefed Congressional and EPA officials. And for the record, no where did I write that YOU stuck your head in the sand. I think I was also pretty clear that it is up to individuals to make up their own minds (I assume the readers of this forum are intelligent enough to read and make their own decisions). This is why I posted links to the sites for them to read if they choose. I believe I said do your "do diligence" and read. Too many people sit back and say, "they sell it so it must be safe" or "the MSDS says its safe". I think history has shown that "they" dont always know if something is safe. Take flame retardants as just ONE example. Different chemicals were approved for use and then years later were deemed unsafe and taken off the market (after they doused children's sleepwear and clothes with them). The US is now taking action to remove Deca-BDE from the market as it can potentially cause cancer and may impact brain function (please see my link if youre interested in reading FACT not fiction). You are fooled if you think every one of the chemicals in use today has been tested for safety. Even if it has been tested, they do not test the safety of the chemicals in combination with each other. Nuf said, make up your own mind.

P&G, ruined GAIN Sweet Sizzle in wash scent beads a while back. They changed it to the EXACT awful, candy, sweet, chemical smell that ruined April Fresh Downy. I know I've said this 10x, but I think P&G lost the rights to the original April Fresh Scent, that a famed French perfume house created in the 60's/70's. When I ask P&G about this, they will not comment. There are 1000's of complaints, and consumers begging P&G to return April Fresh to it's original soft, powdery scent...but they do not, they cannot. They even just recently changed the Downy April Fresh Dryer sheets....they too, are the new, awful scent!! :(

OMG - I LOVE THE DOWNEY UNSTOPABLES !! I rave about them to family and friends! I like the Downey scents better than the Purex ones. I only use them for certain items, items that I can use softner on, then I don't use them. My hand washables - like better shirts, panties, bras, sweaters, etc. Since I usually also line dry them, the Unstopables helps to freshen them up better than just detergent. I even sprinkle a few in when I am washing the dogs bed covers. I have bath towels from Frontgate that must be washed in cold and no softner is recommened. It helps to freshen them up. Many micro-fiber cleaning towels don't allow softner either. I use them on my very, very stinky horse blankets,fly sheets and his bath towels. I also use them on my winter barn jackets, breeches and gloves. Believe me, those things are really stinky and the Unstopables, have them smelling wonderful and it lasts a nice long time. I think my horse smells better than any other horse in the barn LOL!!! My laundry room also ends up smelling nice. I'm thinking about making a few little sachets for my closets with them too.

@ livebetter....these are ok, but quite strong. The scent is what I would call fresh-perfumey, LOL. I do not love this one, but there are much worse!!! I would try them on towels or sheets that you know will sit for days or weeks before using. In wash scent boosters soften as they sit, this is where they shine!!
