Shaklee Fabric Softener FINALLY arrived :)
Comments (23)@vala55, it sounds to me like someone is "confused". Your statement makes me think of the Basic H2 product. What they say is that it makes "water wetter". This is how most surfactants work. Surfactants lower the surface tension of a liquid. This allows the product to clean better. Unfortunately a major problem with MLM is anybody can sign up and they don't have to be the sharpest knife in the drawer (I'm being polite here) so crazy things get said and done. I take huge issue with people who post misinformation. As for the quality, everyone is entitled to their opinion but mine is different than yours. I have nothing to gain here by my statements I just really enjoy the Shaklee products that I do use. Shaklee is the number 1 nutritional company in the US and they've been around for 50 years. They must be doing something right. Using their cleaning products is more about choosing products that are safer and greener as well as supporting a company who "gives back" (ie. off sets carbon emissions, plants one million trees, donates supplements to disaster victims, etc ...). No one said they would work better than what you've been using all your life. They are "better" choices that work. If you choose to support P&G, Reckitt, whomever with your money - that's your choice. Maybe making better choices isn't important to you so you cannot justify spending a little more ... I don't know. Maybe you do make greener choices but find cheaper "green" brands work for you ... who knows. You have not really said what products you are comparing to. In fact, you haven't even commented on whether you have used the exact product being discussed in this thread. I have used it (as has the original poster). It sounds to me like maybe you take issue with a MLM business. In which case, that's your prerogative but please don't post misinformation....See MoreNew (to me) fabric softeners
Comments (23)Isn't Spaghettos a nutritios food? My boys love them and on Saturday for lunch with a piece of fruit I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Sandy your mother must have really cared about what her children ate and that is great. I consider McDonalds child abuse yet once in awhile maybe every few months I do get it for them...they are kids after all...I just think that once in awhile foods that are completely unhealthy are ok..its teaching them moderation. by the way have you noticed McDonalds is serving breakfast food all day now...we went a few weeks ago ..the boys were so excited about this ..they each ordered oatmeal with fresh frozen fruit..apple juice and one pancake each. I left there feeling good about taking them. my boys love oatmeal, so I was happy to see it served at McDonalds....See MoreGain Original Fabric Softener
Comments (7)and YES MamaP, I've notice Downy unscented kills, or as you say it nicer neutralizes other scents. See my first reply to Sandy, LOL ;) I even say I add extra Tide 'he' powder when I use unscented Downy, because I try and get as much Tide Original classic scent as possible. I've found mixing Downy unscented with a hair of Downy AF when using my beloved Tide powder works best!...See MoreBenefits of Fabric Softener
Comments (46)I use a half dose of Downy Free & Sensitive and use vinegar for the remaining half. This dilutes the FS and keeps it from causing buildup in the detergent drawer. It is also enough for my clothes to come out feeling soft and fluffy. I find the reports of the evils of FS to be way overblown. If you follow a good laundering practice, you can use FS without any issues and enjoy its many benefits. People want magic bullets but there are no such things. The basic rules are simple. Don't wash in cold, ever, even if the garment label says so unless your machine can guarantee specific temperatures. Cold is defined by the garment industry as 85ºF, but most machines deliver tap cold, which, if below this temperature, is unacceptable for proper cleaning. If your machine doesn't guarantee specific temperatures, you should use warm for all cold items. Most of my stuff gets washed on "warm", which is 105ºF on my Miele, and it works great. Whites get "hot" at 140ºF and sometimes I will wash a mixed load on "very warm" which is 120ºF. As long as you wash at an appropriate temperature, use enough detergent, and don't overdose on the FS, you should be fine. Just use some common sense. Don't overdo it, wash at higher temps, and use enough detergent....See Morelarsi_gw
