Thank you all for your responses - they're very encouraging. I know there are countless varieties of fungi out there, that many of them are beneficial, and I'd read somewhere the list of 4-6 specific ones that cause damping-off ... I just jumped to conclusions and figured with my luck, I probably had one of those. The flats are in the house - only 3 seeds have sprouted so far, but I expect the rest won't be far behind. Once they're all up, I'd like to move them out to the greenhouse, which is kept around 50 degrees at night, and about 65-70 on a sunny day - though it would easily climb higher if I let it. I was thinking the best time for this is when they have their first set of true leaves. Any suggestions? I tried starting seeds indoors years ago, with little success. This year, with the greenhouse, I thought I'd have a go at it again because of the lower cost, greater variety available, greater satisfaction of growing from seed ... and, despite the wonderful flowers, herbs and a few veggies growing out in the greenhouse, I just can't wait for spring! Webcat Either the red or the burgundy. I've got pink ones, one is a very pale pink with a white eye, the other is pink with a red eye. I've got so many seeds of the pink with the white eye that I finally started dead heading them, so no seed pods would develop. I snatched a few seed pods of a burgundy one last year or the year before, but it has not flowered yet. I've also got seeds of Texas star hibiscus, that is really growing slowly this year. I wonder do they peter out after a few years? I started white texas star last winter sowing season, wintered them over in a holding bed and one is setting a flower now, but it looks very spindly. I'm hoping to get seeds from it before the season is over. The reds that you have shown are just to drool for, LOL. They are absolutely georgous!! So if you have some seeds for either red, please keep me in mind. Alberta

We will go down next weekend, and I hope that the other hibiscus will be in bloom. I also hope that I will have brugmansia blooms, if so I will post pictures again. My plumeria will probably not bloom this year, I just purchased them from Florida Colors in June. This was the first year, I did not dig them up in 12 years. they were established trees, so I was not worried. I will never make that mistake again. All you have to do is dig up the pumeria and desert rose, wrap in newspaper, and store in the garage rafters. That is what I plan to do next year.I wish I could do that with my brugmansia. They are almost all new plants, since I had to start over, I will probable need to cover all the plants if we get a freeze, something I have never had to do before. Barbra,

They bloom on new growth so once it slows down the growth, it will eventually stop blooming. If you can encourage new growth on it, eventually that growth will mature and bloom. The ones that appear to flower year round are continually making new growth through the year, although they do take some time to rest at some point.
