I started making all our bread in 1977 or so...saw an article in a BH&G about a little boy that made and sold Challah from his wagon. I thought if this little Jewish boy could do this why not me ??? The first batch turned out so well I have kept it up and expanded to lots of other types. There are 100'a of pics on my photobucket food album. I have "taught" so many folks on GW over the years...it has been so rewarding. There are slideshows on the pb album too. Let me know if you are interested. The Wild Yeast is very different from " straight" doughs...those that use commercial yeast. it is a whole different concept. Have you ever posted the cream puff dessert? Sounds decadent, so please share! We are finally getting good tomatoes here, but not in the supermarket, Azzalea. Yesterday we stopped at a farmer's stand and I got 2 big red tomatoes, 3 ears of corn, 1 red pepper and 2 cucumbers for $4.89. Bengardening, those pinwheels must've been a lot of work to make by hand. It reminded me of churros but it was large and coiled around and around. A little taste of heaven, believe me!

I made Pasta Puttanesca again. I made it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and has become our favourite way of eating spaghetti. Made apple crostata for dessert. I think I'll buy a little ham that is still on sale...all this talk about ham, has got me wanting one! ......that is, unless someone wants to invite us over for leftovers?

I made beef stew with steamed dumplings ontop. Then had lime jello w/bananas for dessert. :) The only time I get jello w/bananas is at the family reunion. Most always SOMEBODY brings it. I found a box of lime jello in the cupboard from I don't know when and had some bananas getting ripe, so there it was.
