What's for dinner tonight?

Anyone else eating leftovers? We're having grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and pineapple casserole. Have many leftover meals in the frig that need to be eaten this week.

Just added dressing to the little bit of leftover Alaska cole slaw and eating it right now.

Sooooooo good, have to tell ya!

As I didn't cook 'firsts' yesterday, I had tilapia, cabbage and potatoes tonight. Tasted really good but my house doesn't smell the greatest right now.

Oh yum, does that bread look good! It will be great toasted, I'm sure. We put off going grocery shopping as long as we could, so we had to do it this afternoon. What a mistake. It was a three-ring circus in there with every wacko under the sun (you know, those people who leave their cart in the middle of the aisle and take off for who-knows-where). One woman even had her cart in the aisle sideways. Just standing there looking at her list not noticing people in both directions were waiting to get past. GRRRR! We barely got all the groceries out of the car before the rain started so we're having BLT's for dinner tonight. The tomatoes at the farmer's market are so darned good this year.

Nuked two hot dogs in the microwave and used slices of wheat bread for buns. Just didn't do it for me, they weren't very tasty at all. And as far as whole wheat breads, I like them; but a good ole' white bread hot dog bun would have made them taste a little better. My stomach is protesting already.

That sounds like a German thing. The way I have had it is that the prune is wrapped in dough and the cooked like that. I guess your family just shortcut it, since it is really the same thing, just in a different form. That is much the origin of Penn Dutch slippery pot pie. Instead of actually making a pot pie they just slipped pieces of the dough into the hot pot of stew. It is easier and quicker and really the same thing. Last week I made for the second time some Momos, which are filled dumplings. It seems to be a popular thing around that part of the world that includes Tibet. Darn, they were good! Thinking of that again today. They are like Goyza dumplings. It is an acquired skill to fill and form the noodles. You use lots of cilantro, ginger and garlic. It seems that a lot of cultures have some kind of a filled noodle or dumpling or peroige or ravioli.

I tripled the pineapple casserole so we have just a little to eat with tonights meal. The ham is all gone so I'll have to cook something for meat.

I also made a sweet potatoe casserole that was yummy.

I'll post that recipe on another post.

I made Pasta Puttanesca again. I made it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and has become our favourite way of eating spaghetti.

Made apple crostata for dessert. I think I'll buy a little ham that is still on sale...all this talk about ham, has got me wanting one!
......that is, unless someone wants to invite us over for leftovers?

Leftovers from yesterday. Baked ham, potato salad, fresh green beans, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce & pineapple cake. There will probably be enough left for Tuesday lunch too.

We went to the movies today. Atlas Shrugged. VERY GOOD!!! can't wait for parts 2 and 3 now.

So very full. If we get munchies later we will eat up leftovers from the last week.

Chinese food, grilled turkey, stuffed peppers, lots of things that need to get eaten.

Meant to say very full from 2! bags of popcorn....

Well, when you buy the large you get a free refill. We polished off one bag and about 1/4 of the second.. I love movie popcorn and will be eating it for days now.
