Any good roses at Roses Unlimited sale?
Comments (17)It depends on where you live. It's $5 for packing & handling and then $x/rose, "x" being determined by where you live. There's a page on-site that tells you how to figure it out. I live in U.S. Postal Zones 2 or 3 which is $3/rose + $5 P/H= shipping charges. Hope that helps. :) Here is a link that might be useful: Shipping charges for RU....See MoreRoses Unlimited sale starts June 7, at $10 per gallon own-root roses
Comments (26)Straw, that's what I'm doing with thorny climbers ... growing them up my downspouts to deter thieves breaking into my house AND stealing my downspouts. I'm growing them right up the downspouts! They're copper and it's ridiculous these days what people looking for a quick buck will steal. I've planted Florentina and will be adding Phyllis Bide when she's grown up a bit. I'm still debating on this sale as I have to get a couple that are expensive shipped and still have my gift certificate from HCRs. I'll be going there next week to pick them out so maybe I need to give this a miss until next year. I did really want Purezza and a couple of others so I reserve the right to change my mind. : ))...See More2019 Roses Unlimited Sale (June 3 - 19)
Comments (96)Another fun comparison: Left: RU, Distant Thunder, Own Root, I’ve had it about 1 month. This plant had the thinnest stems of the three, also had smaller root ball than the K&M. Very healthy, put out a lot of new growth Middle: Wayside, Molineaux, Bare Root, Dr Huey, also had it about a month. By far the thickest stems, but of course being bare root had to grow new feeder roots. Good progress, there’s even a bud. Right: K&M, Buxom Beauty ,Fortuniana, just arrived today. Thicker stems than the RU rose, also had a very dense rootball. Was trimmed short significantly to fit in packing box so most of the mature foliage is gone, but lots of new growth remains, even 2 buds. I’m very happy with all three providers, and thankful that I’m able to get hard-to-find varities in mid summer in great health!...See MoreRoses Unlimited summer sale June 19 through June 30
Comments (100)I think it the "crushing" of the boxes must have happened in the first distribution center, since we all come from different areas in the US and all have the same damage to our boxes. I planted all 12 yesterday and they look healthy and big, even Artistry doesn't look too bad. I was worried that it was the rose I really was looking forward too, because I always have that "luck" that something I really want is either the only one that is out of stock or the only one that's small/damaged/DOA when I open the box. These are for sure the last roses I order this summer, it is super hot here in MN and that takes the fun out of planting. Now I can sit back, somewhat, and enjoy my roses :)...See MoreVicissitudezz
