Miele Little Giant Sluice Program
Comments (17)The manual for the UK version of the Little Giant cites the UK health standards met by the sluice programs. Those standards refer to "foul laundry", which seems descriptive but not overly so :-) Oh, and the UK manual says max load 4.0 kg for sluice, so 14.3 lbs. in the US manual is a typo. There are sewage grinder pumps for house plumbing, which grind up stuff straight from the toilet. Seems to me that the Little Giant drain pump doesn't have to work quite as hard, because the tumbling action breaks stuff up. If you washed foul laundry a lot, you might want the washer to discharge into a standpipe, not a utility sink like I have. The stand is rock-steady on the floor, and the machine is firmly attached to the stand. But the stand flexes a bit, enough so the upper part of the washer visibly rocks back and forth under some conditions. I can live with that, as long as it doesn't keep the machine from reaching full spin speed, or prolong the time needed to reach full spin. I think it is stepping up to full speed on final spin (unlike my W4840, I don't have a Kill-A-Watt meter to confirm it). The rinse spins aren't anywhere near full speed, but it doesn't seem to be having any difficulty, so I assume they're working as intended....See MoreMiele Little Giant information needed
Comments (10)I'd make the room to accommodate the deeper dimension of the Little Giant set. I think most regular sized sets would need 36" depth or deeper to accommodate the dryer venting. You could locate your set in an area that if ever the really deep sets are needed, it wouldn't be too big of a deal, maybe just moving a few cabinets. Beats having to relocate doors and traffic patterns. In my room, I had no choice and went with the regular sized Miele. A Little Giant won't ever fit :(...See MoreNew Miele Little Giants
Comments (8)The press release doesn't say much about the drum volume unfortunately. Currently, the drums are 54 liters for the 5.5 kg models and 59 liters for the 6.5 and 7 kg models - which simply means the higher the capacity, the more you have to stuff the unit. The only true 8 kg model is the OctoPlus, which is a larger washer overall and has a drum volume of 80 liters. So it remains to be seen how large the drum really will be in April, the debut of these washers here....See MoreMiele T1 or Little Giant or Whirlpool full-sized ventless WED7990FW
Comments (15)Still pondering this question. Whirlpool updated their ventless dryers in 2019: Whirlpool WHD862CHC is the silver one. I don't think it reverse tumbles, but it is full-size. There are only two reviews (from Whirlpool originally) repeated on all sales websites. Anyone have a comment regarding Miele's smaller reverse tumble vs. Whirlpool full-sized machines (which would enable a full-sized washer also)? Thanks again!...See Morelarsi_gw
