We're trying to decide if we want to wait for the W1/T1 or splurge on the LiGi. It's a lot of money, taking time to decide and am intently following yours and Alex's feedback.

Do you have to push a button to get the dryer door open...I don't see any kind of handle.

@Larsi - it looks gorgeous! I'm also not a stickler for matchy/matchy and I thought your previous set was just fine (function over form, always), but I must admit this is a dead sexy set up. Your machines always look showroom perfect, too. I kinda hate it! LOL. Thanks for the public props, but the time you spent of mine was a mere fraction of how much I spent picking your brain when I was shopping a few months ago. So we'll consider it squared away.

@aamamassther - I don't envy your decision. The W1/T1 promises to be both feature- and volume-rich, but still consumer grade. By that I mean 120v, long wash cycles, lower temps, and probably extremely long heat-pump dryer times. But it's a beautiful machine and will no doubt work well. If it's in your budget, you can't go wrong with the Little Giant, and you never know when it might stop being sold. Despite its finickiness, I'm still totally smitten with the machines.

(and yes, the yellow/orange button unlocks and sort of "pushes" the door open)

Very nice. How do you keep those stainless appliances looking so clean?

I use 3M Stainless spray/polish on a cloth diaper. Also olive oil or baby oil works. But some of the newer sprays made for Stainless help repel lint and smudges!! ;)

FIRST LOAD done and put away!!

This Miele Little Giant Condenser dryer is phenomenal!!! Clothes came out 95% or more dry, cool to the touch, super soft, wrinkle free and they smell even better than with the vented dryer.

...and 100% static free, since the dryer is moister. It Does make the room a tad warmer, but we have a ceiling vent/exhaust fan in our laundry room and I ran that during drying. Temp went from 71F to about 75/76F while dryer was running. NOT bad at all.

Cycle took about 45ish mins to dry. HUGE load of kids clothes.

I could have saved time, money and frustration and ordered this Condense dryer months ago when I got my LiGi washer...but I was afraid of a C dryer. Not any more. Woo-hoo!!

Btw, our So. Calif. Miele area Rep. already called me! Impressed. She submitted the paperwork, requesting that Miele, Inc. pay for my 5 year Miele extended factory warranty! YAY!!!

Aamassther - do you have to stack? Do you care about matching components? LiGi washer is 100% worth the price. The dryer? It's a good dryer -- probably the fastest condenser on the market -- but still just a dryer. Getting only the washer and supplementing with a non-Miele dryer can make it a more approachable buying scenario.

Aamassther.....1000% agree with Alex. I LOVE, LOVE my Little Giant washer. I LIKE, LIKE my Little Giant dryer! Don't get me wrong....the dryer is gorgeous, built unlike any other machine, lots of options and cycles and programming choices...but being a Condensing dryer the cycles are longer and hotter than any other vented dryer.

But, so far the 4-5 loads I have dried in my new LiGi Condenser dryer...everything is soft, fluffy, virtually wrinkle free and smelled so clean and fresh. Alex pointed out to me (it did not cross my mind) that no air is being vented out & away...so laundry product scents stay a little more, even though the dryer runs HOT, even on Low Temp option.

If you do not care too much about aesthetics....I would def. consider getting the LiGi washer and a non-LiGi dryer if you want to save money but still have an AMAZING washing machine!!!

I wish I'd had the opportunity to use my Little Giant washing machine in tandem with my old Samsung dryer for a few loads. Since getting the new machines I have significantly less lint in the trap -- not just a little less, but a lot. I don't know if this is because the honeycomb drums actually work, if the increased water levels are cushioning the clothing better during wash cycles, or if this dryer is gentler on clothing. Impossible to know with multiple variables at play.

Well you have a lovely set now. Very happy for you. It is interesting to hear your experiences with the condenser dryer, but it was WAY MORE FUN hearing about your clothes line experiences, lol. Thanks for sharing both!

Good question. The LiGi says it should be run at 230. Most US houses are 240. I triple confirmed with Miele that this was within the acceptable +\-10% range that no step down was required. Older models indicating 208v require a transformer.

I have to comment..I have noticed a HUGE difference in the lint in my dryers lint trap since using my Duet. I take it this is good?

No transformer needed for Little Giant. Plug & Play.

Btw, I tried two loads today using Delicates and Normal+ (less residual moisture left on fabrics).

Excellent results! Much, much cooler temps...full loads still under an hour to dry and everything was so soft, wrinkle free, smooth and smelled amazing!!

I might be LOVING, LOVING my new dryer :)

@Alex and Larsi, thanks for the great info! I hope you don't mind my hijacking this thread. Sadly, I need to stack. I agree, I hate to spend that kind of money on a dryer. Part of the issue is that my current Frigidaire pair is literally jammed in the laundry closet. And it's small for washer/dryers these days! Add that with my dryer being broken, I'm looking at options. Of course the most cost effective is to repair, which I will anyway (and forward to a family member) and jam it back in and hope it doesn't need any repairs until my back and shoulders heal, lol. Or replace now with a set that fits better. I'm on the fence.

Is a condenser dryer shrink cotton polos on low hot, or just hot because it's a closed loop? What are average times for say jeans and towels? Or polos and chinos on low heat?

The washer is my dream. As a massage therapist, I buy a washer based on how high the temp gets for getting massage oil/cream out of my sheets. Being able to process quickly will be great too.

Thanks for the insight, I wish I could see them in action. I've only seen them unplugged. Are they quiet, like the residential ones?

Why not consider a Miele 3038 machine? It isn't as flexible as the LiGi and the heater is smaller, of course, but it has an excellent sanitize cycle that will do very well with removing oil from the sheets and whitening. The capacity of the 3038 is just under that of the LiGi but it would easily do 2-4 sheets (depending on size) in one load. I routinely do a full king set including 4 pillowcases.

@rococogurl, I narrowed it down to both Miele sets. While not as flexible, the 3000 series is a really nice machine. I saw that one running when I was in Chicago last fall. I like how quiet it is, which is important as they will be in a living area. Your info on this site and the cheat sheet has been very helpful in the process.
