How to bring life to this dining room? It seems something is missing!
Comments (29)2013? What changes did you make? Rather than adding a picture to the wall at the end of the table of something that isn't relevant to your life, find something uncommon that reflects your interest. Do you like the beach, mountains, hiking in the woods ... whatever ... consider pressed metal art instead of a framed picture. http://ep.yimg.com/ay/yhst-23119701400359/pair-of-cranes-in-the-marshlands-metal-wall-art-26.png http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-23119701400359_2273_274531390 http://media1.kohlsimg.com/is/image/kohls/1879362?wid=240&hei=240&op_sharpen=1...See MoreBoring brown interior.. Comments (8)How a room feels is all about the flow of color... It looks like you have a neutral colored carpet, which is a great start! You can change the entire flow and look of the room with couch covers... either keep it neutral or go all out with some contrast from the light carpet, then throw in some pop of color with accent couch cushions, curtains, wall art and plants... Check out the "Feng Shui" pages on our website... you'll get some great ideas there! Comments (28)You don't need drapes--keep the room casual since that's how you use it. The lamps look terrific, and your bamboo shades are great just as they are. I love the idea of a couple large vintage football posters with some green and brown in rustic wood frames. Think of your other space as a quiet reading area that can transition to more casual activities depending on the occasion. Anchor it with a modern patterned rug, double the size of what you have, for the reading area. Top rug is from Overstock.com; the other two from Wayfair.com. You can plug in colors--mint, brown, white, red, but stick with three in rug, posters, etc. A nice old trunk or round game table connecting the two chairs under the window would add some texture as well. You have such a big room, you could put a sofa height console table behind the couch and put a couple leather chairs there. Then you can serve buffets from there. This one's a little too rustic, but you get the idea. You could probably get one made out of recycled wood with painted white wood legs to take it up a notch....See MoreRelated Professionals
