Branching and Trunk Thickness in Fiddle Leaf Fig

Kara Carlson

Hello everyone!
I live in central NC and have a very healthy fiddle leaf fig tree that I got back in December. It's grown almost two feet since I got it, but only straight up. Its about 4 feet tall now and has leaves all the way down the trunk, but no branches. I know the warmer months are best for pruning, so I was wondering the best way to prune it to increase trunk thickness and encourage branching.
