I always find it easier to start with an inspiration rather than with a paint color...it can be art, a picture of a room I like, a rug, a dish, a piece of fabric...almost anything that sets the direction. Perhaps spend some time on houzz.com and look at some rooms or spaces you might like to see what direction you want to go in.

Yes, I agree with Annie. We could suggest a thousand different paint colors. While the outside indicates the style of home, and the use will be a B&B (wow--good for you!), it still needs a few pieces--furniture, art, fabric, something--to better define the style you're seeking. Deep jewel tones? Bright white? Moody grays?

Location for the plants as well. (Zones).

If you were in SoCal and wanted the front yard to be used by guests. I would consider what materials I would like for a walk, would I want just seating or dining and then add the appropriate hardscape (walks and a low wall to sit on) and plant a variety of lavenders, salvias etc.

Not sure where this is located, but clearly there are regional influences that should be considered in designing the interior as well as the climactic impact on the exterior. I think on the outside, I'd just make a durable walkway to the porch and then add seating there. Given how fragile arid plants can be, I wouldn't do anything to encourage guests to spend time in the yard at all...unless you make a specific area, say a stoned circle with chairs. But to start out as a b&b, I'd probably put my money elsewhere.

On the interior, esp for the public spaces, I'd probably do a neutral backdrop and let the accent colors come from the furnishings and accessories. If I wanted to warm up the space in the bedroom area, I'd think about doing maybe an accent wall in a saturated color to stand up to all the wood.
