Should I keep or return
Comments (16)ideefix, I guess without seeing the rest of the room, it is hard to see that there is a lot of color going on in the room, especially with the area rug. I didnt want to take away from the rug or the stone by having items that were too colorful. I wanted the items on the fireplace not to be the focal point thats why I chose the more quiet pieces, except for the vase I guess but I could turn around, it is mostly black withh some green on the other side. rafor, thanks but I dont think it is the height so much an issue for me as I specially looked for something that was close to the same height, to me that makes it balance. It is the width of the candle holders I am concerned about maybe they are too narrow. The more I see them though I like them..lol...See MoreShould I keep the faux beams?
Comments (21)Yes fori one has been starting to fall for a couple of years and ive never taken the time to figure out how to reattach it. I think the space will end up looking like it has higher ceilings when they are gone and you look at the room from the kitchen (split level, kitchen is two stairs higher than this room) The beams are almost eye level from a distance when in the kitchen. Ive also thought about repurposing one of them for a mantle because it will be long enough to span the entire mantle which is currently just a narrow slab of stone. The beam wont offer up much more shelf space, but it will add some interest to the mantle...See MoreHelp! Should I paint my built-ins and mantle or keep the stain?
Comments (34)I just realized I did not come back and update what I decided to do. I so appreciate everyone's commnets and suggestions. I did have them painted white and love the result! it feels like such a tranquil room now. I don't know if it is just an itch to have something different, but now I am trying to decide if I want to have the kitchen cabinets painted white since to rooms are open to each other. I am not concerned about following trends. The cabinets are either maple or birch. As I have polled my friends and family I get differing answers. I am not good at visualizing and have tried the paint visualizers from SW and BJ but it looked like a kindergartener scribbled on the picture with a crayon! I did try homedesign.ai and no matter how many times I ask for white cabinets, it always produced this picture: I actually really like this look, but it also has new countertops and backsplash. I just wasn't ready to do a whole kitchen remodel....See MoreIs this a chinese pistache? How do I groom it? Should I keep it.
Comments (4)Cut off a few bottom branches. This will soon thereafter contribute more growth to the top as stored energy is redirected. Search out the main trunk. If other side branches start growing upward near the trunk, cut them back or off so you don't end up with the tree splitting into multiple trunks, unless you want multiple trunks....See Moreartemis_ma
