Hello everyone, I have a "wild" tree that I let go and I'd like to identify it. I live in hardness zone 8 near Dallas, Texas. This tree along with three others popped up in my yard three years ago. One was right on the fence line so I cut it down and the other was too close to the house so I cut it down as well. This one is about 15' - 16' from concrete or house and I didn't cut it down. You can see from the pictures that I didn't do anything with it. It's a hot mess. So I have two questions

1. Is 15'-16' too close to the house for this type of tree? If so, I need to kill it/remove it.

2. If it isn't too close, how in the world do you prune this thing?

My yard is a mess from our renters before we moved back in, so please excuse the mess.

A couple of notes, I don't know much about trees. We have a crap-ton of rabbits and birds around my house. I have a dog, but she's inside most of the time. Most everything dies here because of the direct sunlight, so I had no idea this was going to grow this fast.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
