No one has posted on GW yet that they have either model installed. Maybe this will be the lucky post that will get an affirmative response.

Here is an image of compatible DirectSelectionPlus model from Miele AU. From reading the manual, the there is only one timer display, but you can cycle it through all of the cooking zones by pressing the timer button for individual zone setting.

Here is an image of KM6380 with timer lit up. You can see those dots around 00 number indicating cooking zone activated for that timer, in this case, all five, I think.

I have the 30" Canadian version of this cooktop. The interface looks the same. I just had it installed, so have not used it much yet. I did play around with the timer today to see how it works, and it seems that when you activate the hob and then press the timer key (it's the clock under the 00) then the dot that corresponds to the hob you've just activated starts to blink. For example, the front left hob corresponds to the dot above the h in the timer area. From there, you enter the time by using the keypad directly above the 00. You will repeat the process for each additional hob you want to set a timer for. During the cooking, the remaining time will display as will the blinking dot that corresponds to the hob. If you have the timer set for more than one hob, then the display will default to showing the hob with the least amount of time remaining. You will see a steady dot for all other hobs that have the timer activated, but in order to see the remaining time for those hobs you will need to scroll through by touching the timer key.

There is also an independent timer that does not have any effect on the hobs, and it is activated when all of the dots around the timer are steady as in the above picture.

Keep in mind that the key to the right of the timer key is the stop and go activation key, and has nothing to do with setting the timer.

This looks exactly the same as the prior cooktop version that many of us have. It works exactly as sherri says and is pretty intuitive to use. We occasionally use it for cooking (we are working on perfecting the timing of this for a few things - it's going to be great once we do), and often use multiple timers just to dry out cast iron skillets for a few minutes after washing them. Maybe they made the beep less annoying sounding in the new version?

to sherri: just wondering what was reason(s) for Miele 30" over 36" version? My DH first wasn't even looking into any 30" induction however after we went to see 36" Miele KM6370 demo she is now much more open to 30" version. I see the 30" model is exactly same as 36" minus one 5 1/2 -8" zone and about $500 cheaper.

The initial selection was Miele vs Wolf vs GE Cafe all 36", now we added Miele 30" as well. Tough decision to make...

Eric, I had initially decided on the 36", but I live in an old house and
having 50amps dedicated to the cooktop was pushing it in terms of
electrical. I really don't "need" a 36" cooktop, and if on the rare ocassion I ever do need an additional burner, I have my portable induction cooktop. Second, when I spoke with the Miele chef, she said that because I bought the combi-steam oven, I would likely find that I need the cooktop even less. I think that statement was my tipping point.

ETA: I find that I like the flat surface of the induction vs. the gas range that I had previously. It gives me the perception that I have more room on the cooktop.

Luckily we upgraded cooktop's wiring to 50amps load so any 36"-er shouldn't be a problem. That statement from Miele chef we heard as well. We didn't get steam
oven this time but eventually we are making ready for the swap...

The new Miele KM6370 initial impression - wow, is it really 36" or 42? It seems to be somehow bigger, maybe because of glossy dark pitch black surface? We also found the controls layout is a little confusing since it's not exactly corresponding burners layout (no issue on 30"..). Other then that it's very nice looking cooktop for sure.

Bringing this back up as believe it or not, this is still under consideration. At the time of my original post we had cracked the surface of our De Dietrich import which was no longer being made and thought we needed a replacement. Luckily we did not and were able to get a replacement surface but de Dietrich is no longer available so looking at replacement options.

Looking for feedback, pros and cons, if you have either of these.
