May, 2014 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (21)Sharon, I'm so happy your sister is recovering. A sister is such a special person. Calliope, your puff quilt looks great. What did you fill the little pillows with? Let's see... my goals this month. Well, I did the May lotto block last night. I've finished my DH Block Bluster quilt top. I've purchased fabric for my niece's wedding quilt. I'll probably start washing and cutting this month. I need to quilt my scrap baby quilt and start quilting my Baby Honu quilt. I need to see if I can bring an extra table into my office/sewing room to bear the weight of the quilt as I FMQ. That will leave me with only enough space in my tiny room for my chair, but dragging seems to be my biggest problem while FMQing larger pieces. I guess that's about it for now, especially since the month is a third over already. Happy Mother's Day all you moms, grandmothers and great-grandmothers....See More2016, January Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (13)I started the New Year's day mystery yesterday morning, was sewing along nicely, then had to stop for phone calls from children. I got behind and then we went to neighbours for dinner. So my first goal is to finish that. By the way, it is the Weathervane pattern in a nice setting. Pretty easy. Next goal. While talking to DDIL yesterday, she mentioned they now have a king sized bed, so, would I be able to make a quilt. She is not very particular and likes scrappy. I think a scrappy Log Cabin might be just the ticket. Will help use up the loads of strips and scraps which are taking over the sewing area. Beyond that, who knows! Theresa...See MoreJune, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (16)We live on the West side of US19 which makes it an evacuation zone. We've had mandatory evacuation once in almost 20 years and we went to DD's house which is 10 miles from us inland. She ended up having more damage than we did during that time. Water was 'driven' through their brick house. Between her MIL, who was also there, and me, we were spinning water out of towels for hours. Now, they spray the brick every summer with something that waterproofs it. Another time we had a big tree come down during the storm and we lost electricity so had to leave for about 4 days. We'd come back during the day and run the generator for the freezer and fridge. (I don't like doing those sandwiches either.)...See MoreJuly, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (9)I need to finish up a baby quilt for my cousin's grandson who is due soon. It is on the frame now. The shower is the 16th, do I need to get that complete. I also want to go on a cutting spree. I tend to work better if I have everything cut up and sort of in kits so that I can just do a little at a time. I have a lot of red scraps, a friend getting married whose fiance loves red, and I have until November, so I think my cutting spree will include a bunch of red scraps. :) I am still working on putting Allietare together. It has become a leader/ender project, since it will go to my son and daughter in law for Christmas....See Morebkay2000
