Natural materials, bright colors, hanging chairs and clever storage are some of the features found in these bedrooms and outdoor spaces
There are all kinds of kids, and all sorts of rooms to suit them. But the most popular kids’ room photos uploaded to Houzz so far this year share some common themes. Natural elements and calm palettes, as well as the color teal, have caught many an eye. So have fun outdoor spaces created just for the little ones. Bunk beds, of course, never seem to go out of style. Below are the 15 most popular kids’ room photos uploaded to Houzz so far in 2016, measured in terms of saves to Houzzers’ ideabooks.
2. Clever pass-through. This photo, which has been saved to 1,282 ideabooks, shares a similar clean, organic feel, thanks to the pale wooden floor and paneling, white bunks and gorgeous natural view beyond.
It is also a clever use of a pass-through space to an office in a family compound.

10. Restful vibe. This room’s pale palette may not seem that practical for children, but it has struck a chord with Houzzers, who have saved the photo to 747 ideabooks. Perhaps it’s the fantasy of calm and quiet that the room evokes. Or the effect that Houzzers are dreaming it might have on children who refuse to go to sleep. (What appears to be a bed at the top of the photo is actually a play loft.)
