July, 2015 Quilting/Sewing goals
Comments (15)My July goals are to quilt and bind the restored View from the Cabin quilt that I gave to my neighbor several years ago. Her dog ate several huge holes in it; she "unquilted" the whole quilt; I repaired the top as best I could (being unable to find more matching fabric); and it's now glue basted and ready to re-quilt. I hope to finish my nephew's Winter Windows quilt top and get it off to the longarmer. I'm working on a Summer in the Park quilt with a jelly roll of marbled batiks that I got in a scrap bag and a piece of WOW that my friend gave me. I also have to go through a 12" high stack of patterns and magazines that this same friend gave me. Most of the patterns are for appliqués, which I don't often do, but the magazines have some interesting patterns in them. I'd also like to quilt the two lotto winnings quilt tops that I have pieced and get them into the "Done" pile....See MoreMay, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (7)Tough one! We have a wedding out of town in the middle of the month. DDG#2. His quilt has been finished for a long time and has been sent off by courier so we don't have to carry it with us. And we will be away for a week. Yesterday I hemmed three pairs of pants and there are a couple more to do. If I get those done, I will be glad. I have two tops that need sandwiching, quilting etc. I hope to get that done as well. I haven't sewed much lately and I am getting antsy to get back to the machine. We'll see how May turns out. Theresa...See MoreSeptember, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (19)Sharon I was especially concerned about you with all they said about your area. It was bad enough here. So much rain that I was getting pretty worried since it doesn't run off the South part of our property fast enough. (Hard-pan clay soil 6 inches down.) Yesterday there were 3 tornado warnings here, last night was pretty rough, howling wind and rain and lightning, then the power went off at 3:00 a.m. It was down for 6 hours. And now the phone is messed up. I'm better off than a lot of folks though, especially on the Gulf. But my nerves are shot, I think I'll fix myself a double margarita when DIL gets home tonight....See MoreDecember, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (18)I'm so excited. I'm almost finished cutting my scraps - just a ton of whites to do. My drawers of scraps are all empty except for folded pieces the size of fat quarters or larger. Okay, some of the folded pieces are maybe 1/8s, but it's still a huge improvement. Now I just have to resist starting to sew scrappy log cabins and get busy on the 2017 lotto blocks. I also have to figure out what to take to Hawaii with me this year. I have a scrappy mountain majesties to take -- i actually brought it to Hawaii last year and didn't do it -- and about half of my one block wonder. I mailed my stepdaughter's quilt to her on Friday. She should have gotten it today, but she didn't. Hopefully, tomorrow. The tracking app shows it still in transit, so I hope it gets there tomorrow. I sent it to her work place, so it wouldn't sit on her doorstep and someone would have to sign for it. I decorated the house for Christmas over the weekend. It's alway so much fun to take out the tree skirt and table runner I made. The tree skirt was the first quilt I made, so I'm very sentimental about it....See Moreloisflan
