December Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (30)When I posted my December goals on Nov 30th I said I didn't think I would be able to get to any sewing until the 18th and that worked out to be just about right. It turned out to be the 19th, but who's counting, right? On Saturday I shoved all the holiday storage boxes away that were stacked around and on my sewing table, sorted through the stacks of fabrics that I had pushed aside during Christmas decorating time and got to work. I did 2 birthday blocks due in January and 3 January lotto blocks too. I searched through books and fabric until I developed the perfect border plan for the last Round Robin quilt; although I won't get to work on that until after Christmas. After not touching fabric for a couple weeks it was pure bliss to get back to it and have a couple days to myself. DH was out Christmas shopping so it was just me, the dog, the cats and holiday cooking shows on the TV. A perfect sewing weekend! Kate...See MoreDecember, 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (20)The memorial service was Monday and I took the 15 heart pillows of various sizes (2 at 12" and the rest smaller) that I had made out of some chenille that Katie had given me. I was making them for her mother, sister and girl cousins, but the aunts and a few others wanted one. I made sure those out of state was able to have one and I made 9 more today for those who were left out on the first round. I have 4 more pillowcases made, 3 more in the 'hot dog' stage and 3 more kitted.......and I still can't find my list! I better get moving cause we're having our family Christmas on the 20th.........it really isn't that far away! Yikes!!!...See MoreSeptember, 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (19)Sharon I was especially concerned about you with all they said about your area. It was bad enough here. So much rain that I was getting pretty worried since it doesn't run off the South part of our property fast enough. (Hard-pan clay soil 6 inches down.) Yesterday there were 3 tornado warnings here, last night was pretty rough, howling wind and rain and lightning, then the power went off at 3:00 a.m. It was down for 6 hours. And now the phone is messed up. I'm better off than a lot of folks though, especially on the Gulf. But my nerves are shot, I think I'll fix myself a double margarita when DIL gets home tonight....See MoreOctober 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (9)Gosh, Sharon, do you ever keep anything?? I'm trying to think how many I've finished this year, certainly not close to what you've done. I'm working on machine quilting one, and I think I've done 3 more plus a small one for my dog. Her old quilt was getting pretty wore out, plus I had put fleece on the back (no batting) but her hair stuck in it really bad, so this new one I made I put the fleece inside as a batting and used regular cotton on the back, doesn't catch the hair like the old one. She's so funny, her quilt is on the opposite side of the couch from where I always go. If I'm not on the couch and my couch quilt is on the seat cushions, she will get on that, but if I'm already on the couch we make sure her quilt is spread out for her at the other end. As soon as it's ready she looks around at us to make sure we are settled and she then jumps right up on it and turns in for the night. She knows it's hers. I would have probably gotten more done if I hadn't taken the time out to do the sofa slipcovers and accent pillows, but that was priority one for me....See Moremsmeow
