Please help me match purples! Long, w/pics
Comments (16)I wish I had a loveseat in MY craft room, I could use it as a fainting couch when I'm overcome with bits of thread and complicated instructions on a project! And I love the bold colors of it, even though I lean more towards blue based purples. Boy, this is hard. Personally, I think the 2 colors of purple don't work that well together. For me, it would be bothersome, but I like things to be pretty matchy-matchy. The only way I see it working is if you find some fabric that has your 2 colors in it and use it for pillows, drapes, etc. Or paint the room a more neutral color, even an aqua blue would work, in my mind. Maybe if you had a color wheel in front of you, you could pick some complimentary colors more easily. Even a sage green would be lovely. All that said- it's your room! Your dream sewing room and it should be what you want and you shouldn't have to settle for anything less. Why don't you paint it what you want and sew yourself some simple off-white canvas slipcovers for the cushions and use lengths of it to cover the back and sides, the finished cushions will make it look very classy! Then it is neutral and you can dress it up and down....See MoreMy new sewing room (lotsa pics)

Comments (15)You must be so excited, Linda! I would be!!! Tonight is the in-state rival football game between CSU (my alma mater) and CU (my son's alma mater!) so we will be watching that. Tomorrow we are going to the Tour de Fat bike parade / music fest in town. 20,000 plus bicyclers in costume ... http://www.newbelgium.com/events/tour-de-fat/fort-collins.aspx We also have dinner out Sunday & Monday nights - woohoo. I took my Pfaff in for service a couple weeks ago and got it back and was able to finish 5 of the vests I am sewing for our Lions Club. Then the bottom thread started messing up and my straight stitches looked more like zig-zag. Yesterday, back to the repair shop. ... they have to replace the "hook" mechanism ... $350 MORE than I already paid for service. ($110). They are not going to charge me any service fee, just the part, but OUCH, it sure hurts! Hope they get it finished soon!!! I need to finish vests and aprons before any large quilting takes place. I did sew 6 potholders on my Featherweight last night, so that was good. Will be kind of a mixed bag for me so we will see how much gets done! Sue...See Moresewing studio finally set up
Comments (11)I'm very impressed. I would love to have a craft/sewing studio separate from the rest of the house! Your studio is just perfect. I'd like to hear about & see where everyone else sews. I turned our never used dining room (only 10 x 14)into my studio. I used white cabinets too, but could use more and another closet, I have all my calico fabrics on shelves in the entryway closet which is about 10 steps from my studio, right next to a 1/2 bath/powder room. I have my machines set up in front of a double window with a beautiful front yard view. I have porceline tile floors which are easy to keep clean and find dropped pins. There is a door on a "cubby" space about 3 1/2' square and 2 to 4' high under the bottom 6 steps going upstairs that I will use for bulky stuff. It's sheetrocked in there & ready to paint, then I bought wood tiles for the floor. Your pictures really made me want more cabinets NOW!...See MoreRelated Professionals
