June, 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (12)Only a few more hours and it will be July....WOW! That means we can have new goals........lololol DD's 50th BD quilt is still a WIP but the top half is all together and half of the bottom half. Zelda is coming along nicely and just have to sew some of the horizontal rows together for the last block called Red Darknut. The comfort quilt for my sister-in-law is in the process of being quilted, but it's all being put away as one car load of kids are planning on arriving tomorrow and another car load on Thursday. Then the hoopla for DH's 80th BD will begin. Late night card games, a seafood night (usually Friday), a day at the beach and whatever else they can come up with. Sure am looking forward to seeing them and giving hugs but know DH and I will both be exhausted by the time they all leave on Sunday. That's ok......we don't have anything we have to do so will spend our days napping. :-)...See More2016, January Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (13)I started the New Year's day mystery yesterday morning, was sewing along nicely, then had to stop for phone calls from children. I got behind and then we went to neighbours for dinner. So my first goal is to finish that. By the way, it is the Weathervane pattern in a nice setting. Pretty easy. Next goal. While talking to DDIL yesterday, she mentioned they now have a king sized bed, so, would I be able to make a quilt. She is not very particular and likes scrappy. I think a scrappy Log Cabin might be just the ticket. Will help use up the loads of strips and scraps which are taking over the sewing area. Beyond that, who knows! Comments (7)Tough one! We have a wedding out of town in the middle of the month. DDG#2. His quilt has been finished for a long time and has been sent off by courier so we don't have to carry it with us. And we will be away for a week. Yesterday I hemmed three pairs of pants and there are a couple more to do. If I get those done, I will be glad. I have two tops that need sandwiching, quilting etc. I hope to get that done as well. I haven't sewed much lately and I am getting antsy to get back to the machine. We'll see how May turns out. Theresa...See MoreOctober 2016 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (9)Gosh, Sharon, do you ever keep anything?? I'm trying to think how many I've finished this year, certainly not close to what you've done. I'm working on machine quilting one, and I think I've done 3 more plus a small one for my dog. Her old quilt was getting pretty wore out, plus I had put fleece on the back (no batting) but her hair stuck in it really bad, so this new one I made I put the fleece inside as a batting and used regular cotton on the back, doesn't catch the hair like the old one. She's so funny, her quilt is on the opposite side of the couch from where I always go. If I'm not on the couch and my couch quilt is on the seat cushions, she will get on that, but if I'm already on the couch we make sure her quilt is spread out for her at the other end. As soon as it's ready she looks around at us to make sure we are settled and she then jumps right up on it and turns in for the night. She knows it's hers. I would have probably gotten more done if I hadn't taken the time out to do the sofa slipcovers and accent pillows, but that was priority one for me....See Morelindaoh_gw
