Key lime branches turning brown - please help!

Hi all. About a week ago my lime tree was extremely potbound and defoliated completely, although it was still very much alive. I uppotted it after teasing the roots out because they were ridiculously wrapped and knotted from being potbound. Many roots were ruptured but it still had plenty of healthy roots left. I used a 5-1-1 mix when before I had been using some organic miracle gro from Home Depot.

I was hoping the key lime would come back and start growing again, but that isn't happening! I keep it outside and its well above 60 degrees and what is happening is the "wood" near the top of the plant has turned from green to brown on many of the ends of branches. Are these branches dying? Should I snip it off? I thought maybe this was due to a lack of water, but I don't believe that is the case as I am keeping the medium moist.

What could be doing this? What can I do to help it? Thanks!!
