We have three frameless, recessed Robern med cabs, and are very happy with all three. We have 3 1/2-4" deep models in the guest bathroom and hall bathroom, and a 6" deep model in the MB. Our bathrooms are small as well (MB is the smallest, go figure!), so storage space was a concern for us as well. I love my 6" med cab--can fit a lot in there! Ours all have flat mirrors, because that was our preference. I think you would be fine with whichever one you choose--I don't think there is a hard and fast rule which type of mirror you can use with a traditional or contemporary or ultra modern bathroom. I've seen bathrooms of all types using a wide range of med cab styles and none ever looked out-of-place to me.

Cat_mom and phylhl, thank you so much for sharing your experience. Did you get your Robern cabinets at local stores or online? I saw Amazon has very good price on Robern sold by Faucets and More. I don't know if it's good to order from there. I am now buying materials first, then I'll interview contractors to do the remodeling. Really appreciate your help.

I vote no for mixing metals. I personally think it looks like something broke /had to be replaced, and the homeowner just grabbed the first thing available instead of bothering to match. Of course, I probably think this because it's exactly what my husband does: "Huh? What? I bought the cheapest one. Were others different? Well, it's installed now, so we'll live with it for a decade." Definitely something in the silver family, but I don't think which silver-tone matters. You may obsess about it now, but later people (including you) will just see "silver". Definitely not the gold-tone; the subway tile is "cold", and the brighter metal clashes. Another option, not seen so often, might be white porcelain /vintage look. I like the sconce -- but not in this application; this light fixture is designed for easy movement -- like you'd want above a desk so you could direct your lighting towards today's task -- and that doesn't make sense above a sink, where you don't need to adjust the fixture. It also seems like "too little" for the tile; this is a luxurious tile, and the faucet, with its "fat lines" and curves, fits in -- the skinny, minimalistic lines of this sconce do not. I'd go with something more traditional like the fixture above the mirror in aktillery9's above picture.

Lavanya,,,where builders make their money is in all of the upgrades. they charge you an arm and leg for something that you could get later yourself, for 1/2 the price. For instance, I don't know what you're paying for the kitchen countertops. (or how big a space it is). but you could go w/a standard laminate, no upgrade cost, and after moving in, have someone else come out and do your quartz. Ditto flooring. have the cheapest floating laminate done, no upgrade charge, and then hire someone else to get the flooring you want. Flooring is one of those things that you will be living with a long time. you shouldn't have settle or pick something you really don't want, just because you can't 'afford their upgrades'. Get the basic, move in, and hire someone else to do it. wire brushed is just how it sounds.wire brushing across the surface along the grain. gives it more of a grainy appearance. hand scraped is supposed to mimic the 'hand scraping' of the wood,,,giving it a rustic, uneven, hand made look to the wood.
