Miter
A miter cuts right to the point with beveled edges on moldings, cabinet doors and more
A miter is a joint where two materials have been cut to meet at an angle. Miter boxes assist in making precise cuts done with a handsaw, and an electrical compound miter saw can make cross cuts with angles, creating a beveled edge. "Miter" is also a verb; when you miter something, you bevel the edge or fit ends together in a miter joint.
The miter joint on this cabinet door is where the rails and stiles meet at a 45-degree angle.
Flexible molding can be used over curved walls and narrow corners, making complicated miter joints slightly easier to craft.
Multiple 45-degree cuts were made on these stone pieces, allowing them to wrap around the wood post.
