I knew the answer; do you? Two of the three contestants got it right.

OK, I wasn't even close. I looked it up, so I won't post it here. I had no idea that state bordered Canada and I have been all over both countries in that area!! Shame on me!! LOL

Yep, we knew the answer, (actually, DH did, I only knew after he came up with the correct response and I agreed. lol) Like you, Alisande, we only caught the Final Jeopardy question after missing the rest of the show so can't comment on that contestant but wanted to say that I love those curly toed shoes!

During the interview segment, that contestant was able to laugh at herself. So I didn't see her as totally dry and humorless. I also knew the final answer!

I did know the answer. I thought NH was probably second.

I liked Margaret. Her answer as to what she did in her spare time was funny! there was hesitation "knit" and then "pet cats", and then very unapologetically said she was "unfortunately [she used a better word] the typical librarian".

Moonie, for a bizarre second I thought you meant the dry and humorless contestant wore curly toed shoes. LOL

I knew the answer to the previous show's final question too, and the contestants did not. That's always an ego boost!

Since, you've linked April 13's and not 14's show, I will add, I did NOT know April 13's answer. Good for you for knowing that. I guessed the Ritz-Carlton (I knew it was New York and I picked what I thought was an old hotel). That was a hard one.

I didn't watch, but Margaret bears an uncanny resemblance to one of my best friends, Margie (Margaret), who has a great sense of humor. I knew the correct answer, because the 'far from New England' tipped me off.

I think maybe she was a bit scared and overwhelmed being in the stoplight. Alex told her one time, you can smile. She certainly was smart.

Sadly, he died before I was born. But my dad talked a lot about him. I wish we had a recording of his voice. He was a baritone, and I have many old, old clippings of opera reviews raving about his beautiful voice. My grandmother was an opera singer too.

I found online a 1905 recording of my grandfather's brother playing the piano. He was accompanying a Metropolitan Opera soprano. That was exciting!

I'm confused - I would have said Idaho (only because it's below my province) but when I checked the internet it says it's Pennsylvania at 42 miles. So what was the correct answer?

Pennsylvania's border is with Lake Erie, and Canada is on the other shore of the lake, but Idaho's border is land abutting land.

I know that but did the question differentiate between land/land and land/water? Or maybe you could deduce it by the mention of "45 miles" in which case the correct answer is Idaho.

I saw most of the show and enjoyed watching her get so many answers correct. As a matter of fact, were all of her answers correct? One very smart lady. I kind of like her "librarian" personality. I'm a West Coast girl who grew up in Wash. and Ore. so knew the answer.

We both knew the answer to final Jeopardy last night. Didn't have a clue as to the answer on the 13th.

She was a librarian - and had a very pretty smile at the end. A lot of people are dry and humorless especially when nervous and that would be a nervous making situation.

I missed last night due to a dinner date but I read this post and was curious for tonight! I enjoyed her and I wish she had gone on to win tonight, she is from Boone NC where my two granddaughters go to college, so maybe I feel a little prejudiced :) I liked when she smiled and I think Alex liked her too - but then he likes anybody who goes for "a true daily double" LOL.

Darn, Woodie--I had to miss tonight's show (I had a good excuse: my kids took me out to dinner) and was hoping she'd win again so I could see her on Monday. It seemed likely, given the amount she won yesterday.

Alisande, it was a good show! All 3 had very close dollar amounts and all 3 got the right final answer and so it depended upon who wagered the smartest/luckiest. Was good - but not good enough to miss dinner out with the kids :) We LOVE Jeopardy.

Woodie - my nephew and my bil both went to ASU. My sisters' family lived in Boone for 5 or 6 years. Loved visiting there but too much traffic! After hearing Margaret was from Boone, I did detect a bit of that distinctive accent.

Margaret was a formidable contender and extremely knowledgeable. And, IMO, that is what Jeopardy looks for - not whether a possible contender has humor and is "dry."

I'm sure you're right, Walnut, but we're all entitled to our individual preferences. Her demeanor at the very end of the show did not draw me in, but today I watched Alex's interview with her (referenced by Rob above), and I found that a lot more appealing.

I can't find a free source for watching Jeopardy episodes online. Anybody know of one?

Moonie, our girls love it there! (They are from Raleigh.) Years ago we passed through Blowing Rock on a trip (such a beautiful area and charming town) but we haven't been to Boone yet.

On Friday, I got up from the couch to go cook dinner thinking that was great show. All three contestants were on fire. And very knowledgeable.
