cleaning a deep fryer
Comments (4)Dawn Power Dissolver is a wonderful product for getting the outside sticky and brown carmelized grease from small cooking appliances. I also use this product for cutting grease on OLD Tupperware. Some of those old great Tupperware storage containers show up at garage sales or thrift stores - when folks get tired of sticky stuff. I buy them for nothing, and quickly restore them to a good life! HTH Vicki...See MoreCleaning Range Vent-- how do you do yours?
Comments (1)Wow, that sounds like a lot of work! I can't help you as I still have a little ol' Broan that uses mesh filters, which I put in the dishwasher. Is your hood working properly, meaning is any grease getting to the cabinets, ceiling, etc?...See MoreDo you use a deep fryer?
Comments (19)We use ours a lot. We had a DeLonghi that lasted about six months and was impossible to clean. We ended up getting the Waring Pro and love it. It's plenty big enough for a big batch of fried chicken or fish or egg rolls, and does recover quickly. After use, we strain and pour the oil back in a gallon container, and were surprised to see how little oil ends up in the food (as opposed to the DeLonghi one). The whole thing (except for the heating element/control panel) fits in the dishwasher, so it's very easy to clean. One thing I really like is the heating element is up above the bottom of the oil, so the goop on the bottom doesn't burn and give the oil a nasty taste. It's still messy with splatter, etc. but after watching my grandmother set her kitchen and herself on fire by frying in a Dutch oven, I think it's a whole lot safer :-)...See MoreHow do you clean your hardwood kitchen floors? Comments (14)rebeccamomof123 your floors are lovely. If you like the way your floors look, I wouldn't have them refinished now. You know now that when the time comes you'll have to completely refinish them, but there's no reason you have to rush into it since they obviously are in good shape. I'd stop using the steam mop and Murphy's and start using the damp microfiber mop. We had oak floors refinished in our last house and I used Bona and the occasional steam mop. After 6 years, the satin poly was starting to wear thin in a few spots. Our new hardwood floors are waiting to be installed right now and I don't plan to ever use the steam mop on them!...See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
