she's my little shed groupie :) wondered if anyone would catch that! I found a good home for one of the grafts, after I take a cutting from it and ship it to my local nursery fellow to graft me a mm111 tree for the yard. The other two, I will take you all's advice and prune them this fall into one-whip style trees and I'll squeeze them in somewhere in my little orchard.

Hi I grow VFT in winter due to the s. florida climate . Not only no chill period they hate the humid summers lol They grow well for me during winter but is a real hassle to keep in the fridge so I just grew them as long as they survived .Starting in Oct ( stratified seeds of course) and they usually give up the ghost by late May. Would assume in your zone you're growing them as a houseplant?? Last several years I've not planted any but it can be done might even be better in your zone??? gary

Hi Tony, so glad to finally talk to you, being you are in my area. I do not have clay soil, very sandy and rocks..Now...99% in the ground? In pots purged or in the ground? really will help me know what to do. So you are in west sun, bet..I have west and east sun in my back yard. So Happy for you on singapore, please show the flowers. I have never seen it bloom. I have never seen a flower bloom, only pictures, am so new at this, since early March. I realize now the aztec gold was damagaged, did not know how they are sent. the leaves were torn, hanging by threads, blooms in the box..but HAD roots..I mostly have cuttings, ha. Planted it.. I thought, like on other flowers, buds would grow again..wrong.. The aztec gold has 2 or 3 tiny little leaves, not a good grafting piece, bottom stock is white. I didn't know any better. Now..if it makes it what happens to the top which has green little sticks, was the buds..nubs where the inflos were? does that die? Do you cut it off? Will it continue to grow if lucky will it grow arms..or a lost one. I have e-mailed florida colors, was angry per the other e-mail I sent on here. Hope to hear from them. so what you said..If one orders now and gets a grafted plant with inflos, like the celidine I have ordered..and they are damaged or do not bloom, you have lost a year in flowers. if so, think I might not buy any more. I only have one 3 rooted ones, and cuttings, becomes discouraging. I am trying so hard to make them grow, per what everyone says..don't over water, use a moisture meter, oh boy. Karen

Q: I want to grow a citrus tree in a pot, indoors. Should I be concerned about grafting, or about which rootstock is used? A: A citrus tree grown from a rooted cutting or air layer will probably be just fine in a pot. If the cutting came from a mature tree, it will bear fruit while still small. So thats a great improvement over growing from seed. But if you can get a grafted tree on Flying Dragon roots, it will be a strongly dwarfed tree, which will produce fruit of very high quality. Grafted trees on other root systems may be just fine in a pot, as well, but they wont have the extreme dwarfing characteristic of the Flying Dragon.
