Sending a plant with an inflo is a very sensitive thing. If the buds already started to elongate, then chance are the stress from the shipping will abort the inflo. Most likely you will not see flowers on Aztec Gold this year, but you will probably get amazing growth as Aztec is quite vigorous!

Are there any buds left at all??

Aztec Gold is a wonderful variety and you can most likely count on blooms next spring with proper care.

no, just one stub..darn, will not flower this year, my only yellow, thanks. Wish they would not have sent one like that..I have ordered another plant from Florida colors, will e-mail them to tell them not to send one with the inflos..I have very few plumies, want to see one bloom, did order celidine.

See you live in Sherman Oaks, I live in No. Hollywood. Do you have your plants in pots? or in the ground, similiar weather conditions?

They are wonderful people that try their best to give you flowers the first year. As I said, the inflos rarely last in transit. I ordered a rooted Singapore with an inflo from a private seller and when I opened the package I knew it would survive because it has just started. There is a very narrow time frame to ship plants with inflos, and I lucked out. Now I am 2 weeks away from experiencing the ultimate Plumeria fragrance of all times!!

Yes, I am in Sherman Oaks and 99% are in the ground. I have 29 inflos at the moment and only have about 32 Plumies. This is my best year and things really took off after planting in the ground in a spot with full sun. I lived in a different area 2 years ago and all were in pots in filtered sun. I would get lush leaf growth, but no flowers. When I put them in the ground they took off! Of course, I had to amend my clay soil quite a bit, but it was worth it.

By the way, Celedine is perhaps my favorite. It is a reliable bloomer and the scent is classic. I have 10 inflos this year on my 2 Cellys! Celedine is very hardy and perhaps the most infamous plumeria. Good Choice!

so glad to finally talk to you, being you are in my area. I do not have clay soil, very sandy and rocks..Now...99% in the ground? In pots purged or in the ground? really will help me know what to do. So you are in west sun, bet..I have west and east sun in my back yard. So Happy for you on singapore, please show the flowers. I have never seen it bloom.

I have never seen a flower bloom, only pictures, am so new at this, since early March.

I realize now the aztec gold was damagaged, did not know how they are sent. the leaves were torn, hanging by threads, blooms in the box..but HAD roots..I mostly have cuttings, ha. Planted it.. I thought, like on other flowers, buds would grow again..wrong..

The aztec gold has 2 or 3 tiny little leaves, not a good grafting piece, bottom stock is white. I didn't know any better. Now..if it makes it what happens to the top which has green little sticks, was the buds..nubs where the inflos were? does that die? Do you cut it off? Will it continue to grow if lucky will it grow arms..or a lost one.

I have e-mailed florida colors, was angry per the other e-mail I sent on here. Hope to hear from them.

so what you said..If one orders now and gets a grafted plant with inflos, like the celidine I have ordered..and they are damaged or do not bloom, you have lost a year in flowers. if so, think I might not buy any more. I only have one 3 rooted ones, and cuttings, becomes discouraging. I am trying so hard to make them grow, per what everyone says..don't over water, use a moisture meter, oh boy.

My plumeria are planted straight into the amended ground soil. They are not plunged in pots and receive sun from about 8:30 am to 7 pm. When I tried this in the past when they were in pots, the leaves fried.

The remains of the inflo will usually dry up and fall off on it's own. The leaves will continue to grow as will the main branch until it decides that it wants to either flower, branch, or usually both. Aztec Gold usually likes to branch after putting on 3 feet of growth, but it can flower at any time. The odds are that it probably won't flower for you this year, but with plumeria, nothing is for certain.

I've got inflos coming on branch tips that are only 1 inch on my Celedine, so that definitely is a good variety.

I should point out that we are lucky to live where Plumeria are easily available at local nurseries. Why should you wait a whole other year hoping for blooms when you can buy a rooted Plumeria with buds and blooms? Armstrong will have their annual hawaiian days and will offer many plumeria including Celedine, but it's only called yellow on the tag. Steven's nursery also offers them throughout the summer and if Northridge isn't too far then there is a private grower that has many of the named varieties and you can pick up a plant with an inflo!

Be careful though, Plumeria are very very addictive, LOL! Many people end up with hundreds because one is NEVER enough.

I planted I plumeria last year its been almost a year it is in a potin the house it is growing realy well how long does it take to get flowers on it

They are full sun plants. If weather permits, alow it to go outside. If your day temps are over 70 F. and night temps are above 50 then put it outside. If night temps are below, then bring it inside at night. They need the suns energy to bloom properly. A cutting should bloom within two years if all of the other needs are met. By the way when you first put it outdoors, put in in partial shade to acclimate to the direct sun. After two weeks, it can take more.
