Installing Laminate and can't Move Fridge
Comments (2)Installing laminate begins in a left hand corner. It just works that way. First of all, when you lay the flooring will the planks be horizontal to the front of fridge or parallel? If horizontal you could lay all the flooring and when you get to the fridge area somehow roll it out without damaging the endges of the planks, resting fridge on new floor. Lay the pcs in the area, tapping them into place. Then roll fridge back in. If the plants are parallel I would start my floor in the left hand corner that makes my fridge be on that same left side of wall. Then when you get to those rows- remember you lay laminate left to right, lay the rows in that opening. They will be staggered so lay however many you need to to cover the whole are. Then again, roll the fridge back protecting the explosed edges of laminate. You should be able to finish off those rows. Whatever you do, be sure to protect the new laminate from turning the fridge around the room. Good luck....See MoreI think I know why I can't pick out a backsplash...
Comments (14)sue - yeah, we go to the beach all winter long too - weekend here and a weekend there. Someday I hope we have a house there. The beach is beautiful all year - the entire maine/nh coast is beautiful all year though. It's the most beautiful place in the world - Nubble on a stormy day with the water crashing up? The giant mansions that line the coast in Rye? (we used to "pick" out those houses as kids, which were mine, which were my brothers) But I'm a summer beach girl at heart and to walk around with sand between my toes and the sun out, and a good outside shower at the end of the day...ahhhh...and the smell of the marsh at night and the sound of the waves......See MoreI can't figure out how to paint this section of my kitchen
Comments (6)You need a scaffold board. FOr this to work, you have to have rungs of your ladders at the same height, and you lay 2x12 boards across so that you can reach what you need. Clamp the boards to the ladder for safety. To get to some of the areas, you can use your pony wall as support for one end of the scaffolding and the ladder for the other end, coming out perpendicular to the counter. You'll have to move it a lot more, but you should be able to reach most of the areas that way....See MoreI need some help figuring out how to lay out this kitchen
Comments (66)If you use lisa_a's with 2 entrances to the pantry it may just vent itself easily as I'd imagine the pocket entry door to it from the garage may stay open or ajar frequently. You could possibly fit it in the bump back to match the entrance stairs. Fridges in garages are pretty common around here but we have more issues with freezing temps than overly hot. Otherwise I'd put it in that spot in the garage where the writing says small appliances for inside the kitchen. That's not far of a walk at all....See MoreMedina White
