Have you looked at Bianco Romano? It is not as linear in pattern as River White, but has much of the same colors (varies of course depending on the individual slab). It is funny that you found Kashmir white to be more beige -- the samples that I had were definitely cooler and greyer than River White.

I think the mirror is John Richard, very expensive. You can of course get the same look much cheaper if you look around but always buy the best you can afford. I do think the chair is too small in scale. I would forgo the chair at this point because you already have a good amount of seating and concentrate on the rest of the room. I also think the drapes should up over the windows, add fabric to the bottoms if you can't replace them. I also would not worry so much about making the room lighter/brighter at this point. Worry about making it pretty and making it work for your lifestyle. This is a very special room in that whatever you do to the walls will have major, major impact to the room. That includes the windows. This is way I think wallpaper would make such a great investment and maybe save you money in the long run. Otherwise I think you are going to have to have lots of art to keep it from being dull. There are some wonderful people here to help you every step of the way. I know your room can look fabulous with careful investments. Do you have anything else to go in the room? What are your favorite colors? Look at websites like Schumacher for inspritation. Thanks a2gemini for your help. I would like to find a pendant for over the sink, but maybe just that one for the peninsula area. As per the island, we are considering a Modere-aire hood which will have lights (halogen I think). The hood look we are considering is posted below. However, the colour will likely be white and trim will be brushed steel (not the copper in the picture). Given this hood is large, perhaps we should do two pendants over the island? What do you and others think about the switch for the lights in the dining room? In other words when we leave the kitchen and go to the dining room, do you think we could have a switch on the back of the peninsula? How far away should the pots lights be from the wall? These are available at home depo. Im not sure what is going on with your "garage" doors but if you want to put lights and can at least one in the center would be nice. I also removed the strange shutters from the bay window and slightly upped the size of the ones to the left. Also I took out the post light, I dont think the house needs it. That line could always be (better) used for some landscape lighting.
