Stuck Tupperware Containers
Comments (1)Try putting them in hot water for a few minutes and see if that helps. I would not use old Tupperware especially for liquids. Most were made before the dangerous things were removed from them. I don't even store liquids in new plastics. I do use plastic for solid foods....See MoreShow me your Tupperware lid storage! Comments (20)I hadn't really remembered yet because of the kind of cooking I've been doing (and not) since I've been back in the kitchen, but I've banished most of the Tupperware and other heavy containers, with their baskets of lids, to the back of the cupboard over the Advantium (no picture forthcoming). The disposables are as safe (chemically) and are see through, and easier to deal with. The long flat ones are in an upper because the drawer won't hold them. The drawer is overfull right now because I didn't get to make soup or anything during the remodel. The basket is clear, so you can't really see it. There's a handful of little round lids wedged between the basket and the containers, and others, in the front, on top of the little bowls. This will change as they get filled and frozen. The organization, baskets, etc., are the same as in the old kitchen where I had lower cupboards with fixed shelves. I would just pull out the stack of containers I needed and choose one, then pull out the associated basket of lids. No lazy teenagers, but my put things in the right place challenged housekeeper didn't have any problem with this system, other than putting lids in backwards so that they didn't line up nicely (i.e, so they took more space)....See MoreStoring Tupperware and lids- need ideas ASAP!
Comments (13)I keep thinking there is a better system for this, but it works and I have a drawer dedicated to my plastic storage . . . I do put the tiny containers and their lids in a little plastic basket in the drawer, and another basket is for the larger lids. The containers are stacked by shape - circles, squares, and rectangles. The huge containers are put on the top shelf in a cabinet. I use a lot of plastic storage because I cook a lot, buy in bulk a little, shred my own cheeses, pack lunch boxes, avoid disposable baggies as much as possible and wash and re-use them if I can (if peanut butter was in the bag, I toss it - too hard to clean. I've mandated that all peanut butter things go in plastic containers which the dishwasher washes for me!) I was going to try the dish strainer thing for the lids, saw that on Pinterest (love), but my last house's cabinet was too narrow to accept it, and at this house it worked out that the plastic stuff had to go all in one drawer. The dish strainer thing only works, I think, if you have massive amounts of space to neatly store everything. Most kitchens, I've experienced, are barely adequate for storage. I'd love to add on some cabinetry . . . sigh . . ....See Moretupperware dealers, ISO saltine cracker keeper w/ red lid
Comments (23)I have an old metal Saltine canister. It never occurred to me to actually use it LOL. Duh! I love old tupperware! I bought taco holders on Ebay-now my loaded tacos don't tip over on my plate! The canister sets are great for sugar, flour, etc. I bought a complete 4 pc set for $1 at an estate sale! A couple of years ago my daughter was dating a guy whose Mom worked for Tupperware. He used to bring us all kinds of items-love their spatulas!...See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
