Comments (35)This is an interesting convo going on here. I am a tried and true powder person. I have tried liquids over the years w/o a whole lot of success. Not sure if it's our water softener or what. I just recently purchased my first box of Persil and I am loving it so far. I wanted to give it a try before my new washer came so I would know if it was the detergent or the machine. With every other variable the same, the Persil is doing a better job for me than Sears, Charlies or homemade did. I haven't used Tide in years do to the scent. All of my clothes have been coming out soft, I don't use softener. They look, feel and smell clean and it's the first time I could ever say "blinding white". Now I will grant you that some of those whites are brand new, so the jury is out on how long they will stay that way. I've never had luck w/whites no matter what I do. I've boil washed, warm washed, different detergents etc. I truly believe that some issues are related to water quality. I also think the water difference are why different individuals love different detergents. When, and if I start having issues w/Persil, I may look into the Tide Totalcare and take another stab at a liquid. Thanks everyone for sharing your input....See MoreArm & Hammer baking soda?
Comments (9)I have used A & H baking soda in the wash for years, with great results. It doubles the whitening power of liquid chlorine bleach, which means I can use half the recommended 'dosage' of bleach when I wash really dirty white clothes and towels. I also use baking soda on my guys' stinky clothes they wear for outdoors work. It does a great job of deodorizing them. I have noticed it also softens water, which should be a boon for those who live in hard-water areas. Overall, it's a great detergent cleaning booster -- the most inexpensive I can think of. I buy it at a local warehouse store in huge plastic, resealable bags which last several months. (I also use it for other things besides laundry.)...See MoreI can use TWO A&H BioEnzyme paks in my Front Loader :)
Comments (3)Veda, that's a hard question to answer..first off I'm sure the A&H is a good detergent for what it is but I wouldn't think it quite has the oomph that Biz does. I haven't usedthe Tide boost enough to know yet about comparing them to Biz. I hhaven't used Biz in a good while but always liked it as a soak for stained whites with its oxygen bleach and enzymes I always had great results with it. I just don't think I could personally compare it to the Tide boost yet..but Biz is good, very good. So for me here time will tell. I will for sure be using my Biz again now LOL....See Morelittlegreeny
