St. Patrick's Day Table
Comments (7)Thank you everyone Marlene, those are tea towels I used for napkins. I liked the shade of green with the darker green in the tc. Jeanne the wee ones are hard to control. They were hiding from me at the store last year when I wanted to buy them. Karen, I would love to have you sit at my table, we can keep an eye out for those little rascals, while we share a cup of tea and some soda bread. I am so looking forward to green. Spring can't come soon enough, Candy, I'm pretty sure Pat and Mike are fond of chocolate too. Nothing is safe from them!! Thank you all again. Happy St. Patrick's Day Nana...See MoreSt. Patrick's Day Table
Comments (27)DD, thank you for your kind comment :-) To be honest, I am an Internet marketer and, one day, while enjoying the holiday season, I decided to focus my marketing on holidays. So, after having created my first holiday site (Christmas related) and then the second, third and fourth ones (Valentines, Easter and Halloween) and, following the "gurus" instructions, I created that blog in order to drive traffic to these sites. But one day, some times after Halloween 2007, I ended up in THIS forum and left the holiday marketer I was somewhere on the Web... So, from a promotion blog my blog became a real holidays related blog and not only dedicated to my site updates. I thus spend a lot of time reading the posts, clicking the links, visiting your blogs and the blogs you and all of our friends mention - even if I don't add a lot of comments, I read every post ;-) Well, I still work as an Internet marketer but I enjoy a thousand times more being here reading and watching your pictures than working my online businesses (history, weight loss and tarot cards reading) ;-))) Fortunately, I have my job at school to pay the bills, lol....See MoreLOOKING for: St. Patrick's Day App. or Dessert

Comments (19)Happy St. Pat's Day to all who celebrate. Sometimes I pretend the day doesn't exist and I'm mostly Irish with a touch of Scotland and Wales thrown in - all immigrant coal miners in the mid 1800's. DD is half. As a child growing up in Castle Shannon (a suburb of Pittsburgh) March 17th was the feast day of St. Patrick, not really the huge drinking event as it is now. The day began with a Mass in the Cathedral and then we'd march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I took step dancing lessons before someone decided that garish costumes and curly wigs were mandatory, sang all the old Irish songs with my dear Da, drank Brewley's or Lyon's tea with cream and sugar, and baked soda bread with currants with my Grandmother. We will have a special meal to celebrate this weekend when the kids come over for a birthday celebration. They always ask for corned beef and colcannon rather than the Irish stew or shepherd's pie we often had as kids. I took my son to Ireland for 10 days and we had great craic as they say - which means fun. He gallantly put up with me when I joined in the singing in the pubs at night but I spared both of us the embarrassment of dancing any jigs or reels. I hired a driver so that we could both sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and not deal with the roundabouts and driving on the wrong side. DD's boyfriend is from London so we're trying to plan a trip to visit his family and then go on to Scotland or Northern Ireland. Maire...See Morelizbeth-gardener
