Happy St. Patrick's Day

I can't seem to sleep so thought I would wish all of you a Happy St. Patrick's Day. The last few hours of work was extremely busy. After that we had to run to the city and meet with the accountant for taxes. Got home at 10:30 and thought I was tired but here I am.

I have way to much going on in my life to be able to sleep I guess. At least 30 hours of training ahead of me! So many new things coming our way. I'm going to go to the office this morning and bring home one of our computers so I can catch up on some of it over the weekend. This will also give me access so I can catch up on more office paperwork I hope.

I have two girls coming to get their hair done for prom at 1. I'm really excited about this and hope it turns out nice. If I get their hair done will try to run up to the parade at 5.

Do any of you have plans for St Paddy's Day? Enjoy and don't drink to much green stuff.LOL No time to party in my life right now!

This is the warmest spell I can remember for St. Patricks Day - its 64*F so far! I am Irish and St. Patrick wanted to be remembered for sharing his faith that Jesus died for our sins with his homeland, Ireland. Some imprisioned him for speaking against their witchcraft and others welcomed the message of the resurrection from the dead. Eventually, many years later the seeds St. Patirck spread grew into a new Ireland of faith in Christ. PS. Sabal Palms grow in Ireland due to the gulf stream.

Happy St. Pat's Day to all who celebrate. Sometimes I pretend the day doesn't exist and I'm mostly Irish with a touch of Scotland and Wales thrown in - all immigrant coal miners in the mid 1800's. DD is half. As a child growing up in Castle Shannon (a suburb of Pittsburgh) March 17th was the feast day of St. Patrick, not really the huge drinking event as it is now. The day began with a Mass in the Cathedral and then we'd march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I took step dancing lessons before someone decided that garish costumes and curly wigs were mandatory, sang all the old Irish songs with my dear Da, drank Brewley's or Lyon's tea with cream and sugar, and baked soda bread with currants with my Grandmother. We will have a special meal to celebrate this weekend when the kids come over for a birthday celebration. They always ask for corned beef and colcannon rather than the Irish stew or shepherd's pie we often had as kids. I took my son to Ireland for 10 days and we had great craic as they say - which means fun. He gallantly put up with me when I joined in the singing in the pubs at night but I spared both of us the embarrassment of dancing any jigs or reels. I hired a driver so that we could both sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and not deal with the roundabouts and driving on the wrong side. DD's boyfriend is from London so we're trying to plan a trip to visit his family and then go on to Scotland or Northern Ireland. Maire

How did the hairdos turn out?
Did you get to the parade?
Sleep is something I have a lot of trouble with these days, can't get to sleep, wake often during the night, wake up early, what a pain! I used to be able to sleep 12 hours at a time when I was young. You know what they say about getting older : ( So I totally understand how you feel!!!

Good to hear from everyone. The hair dos turned out great and we had alot of fun. Do I want to do it again? Not sure.LOL

It snowed all day so I didn't go to the parade. We ended up with company and had a nice evening visiting tho. Had more company on Sun. so didn't get my training done either.Yikes...

I have a hard time sleeping most nights due to my hips and groin hurting, just can't get comfortable. I've noticed I don't sleep as much as I use to on a daily basis. After so many nights of this I finally get home, eat dinner and before I know it I'm alsleep on the sofa. Don't wake up for 12 hours. I've been on fosamax for years and hope this doesn't have anything to do with that.
