My oldest was one for making her own words for her favorite things. When she would want a drink of something she would ask for Gee (hard g and long E) and when she wants tomatoes would ask for mee-ohs. My mom would get mad when I would let her use the words but they were so cute. We had a little one at day care ( who would be a teenager now) call her pacifier her wabu finally figured out it was her way of saying love you. We also call butterflies flutterbies, I think it sounds so much better. When Hayden is hungary, he will run around and shout EEE all the time, you tell hime it is time to eat and he will start saying EEE. Rhiannon does think that I have an oven in my tummy that is cooking the baby to get it ready. She told me that my sis that is pregnant with twins has 2 ovens in her tummy for the babies. Long before she got pregnant, she declared that Kerry was going to have twins and that they were going to be named leaf and flower. It was over a year ago that she started it, now she is pregnant with twins and still swears that the babies will be leaf and flower. All of my kids call my dad Pappo, which is also what I called my dad's dad. So he is pappo Bob and the other one is Pappo Bob. My dad just got liecense plates for his motorcycle with personal plates that say Pappo A ( last name starts with A) Last thing is that we call popsicles colds in my house, well of course they are cold so the girls ask if they can have a cold. I am sure that there are more, I am one that lets the kids use the words that they make up, it is cute and a part of the learning process. Stacie

Ok, so I'm not a grandparent and really hope I'm not one anytime soon given that I have a few more years before I hit 40. I did want to contribute to the thread though as I just spoke with my grandmother yesterday. I don't get to speak with her too often because she is very hard of hearing and lives several Provinces away from me, but every time I speak to her, it always chokes me up. My grandmother will be 89 this year. She has 7 children, 20 grandchildren (2 are not biological) and I forgot how many great grandchildren (I think it's 37). I'm one of the youngest grandkids so the majority of us have children. On that side of the family most had kids in their early 20's except my siblings. On my other side, I was the only one to have kids in my 20's. All the rest were in their 30's. My husband's grandmother is 98 this year. She had her 2 kids "later" at age 31 and 39, but my husband's father was 21 when my husband was born. One thing that does make me sad is that my kids were so young when she was sharp cognitively that they don't really remember how great of a person she was. I see draw backs to both young and old, but I am glad I had my kids in my 20's. I did get lucky that I have a fantastic spouse and we have one another's backs. My sister had my nephew when she was 35 and her and her husband separated 1 year later. They finally just finalized the divorce not that long ago. I feel like there really isn't a set appropriate age for everyone.

My son had absolutely precious clothing. He had a cream colored sailor suit trimmed in baby blue. Tweed short pant romper with a button down the back blouse, a little bottle green velvet romper with cream colored button down the back blouse. My DM ordered things from England for him and he always had knee highs and darling shoes. Once he started nursery school I had to change out the way he dressed but I surely enjoyed the darling fashions that I dressed him in while the time lasted. Now I never see him in anything but jeans and pull overs.....drives me crazy.

Darling child! And, it looks like she won't need braces!

Our DGD kept the curls as her hair started coming in less blond and less curly. She struggled with hair in her way until she was four, and her locks were long enough to be donated to charity to make wigs for cancer patients. Her cousin had battled cancer from age three; now 'clear', but with stunted bone growth and profound hearing loss from treatment.

I love the way the picture was taken....but I didn't take it....I wish I was that good with a camera. Maybe if I had a zoom lens but they cost more than I paid for the camera.
