I've been hijacked!
Comments (14)Gorgeous! They're so adorable when they're little babies like that. I want them all! I am desperately in need of more conifers in my yard. All I have is a mini thuja arborvitae and a second one that is supposed to be a mini but, since buying and moving into this house spring/summer of 2012, has grown by leaps and bounds. It was only slightly larger than its brother, but now is four times the size or so. I definitely am jealous of your "conifer addiction". You should label the pictures with the plant names for people like myself, who, despite hailing from northern Minnesota (the land of conifers) have no idea when it comes to these beautiful plants....See MoreI've been asked for this one's name-- help please?
Comments (12)Vrie, that's absolutely positively not Queen Elizabeth. QE is a Grandiflora-class rose, which blooms both in singles and in low-numbered clusters ...and tends to have a hybrid-tea's long-ish stems below a bloom. Your rose is blooming in higher-number clusters and the buds are on *very* short stems. My area of rose-knowledge is mostly limited to Hybrid Teas and Grandifloras (I grow about 80 varieties of them - including two Queen Elizabeth bushes), so I can't be much help about your non-HT/non-GF mystery-rose's name. All I can do is note that its bloom-color is indeed very very similar to Queen Elizabeth (which may help you in your quest) ...but it's definitely not QE. Comments (11)-Nice looking houses Oaktown, I got some good ideas from browsing through the interior photos. Yes, we have considered a one story....but it was cost prohibitive. -Musicgal- Yes, they are amazing....I want one! -Virgilcarter- I have considered 10-12 ceilings on the entire first floor, but am afraid it would make the house difficult to heat. We have to heat about 5 months out of the year. Robin: Yes, it's a walkout basement ( on the south facing side) Annie- I've seen a lot of houses with the "elevator shaft" look....I really don't care for a full two story vault, no matter how big the room is. Lazygardens- great ideas, thanks so much:) Autumn and okokok- Thanks for the encouragement, I'm leaning towards sticking with 9'. We love our land and our view, I'm planning on having lots of windows and I'm sure that will make the house feel open. I've just been in panic mode lately. Lyfia- You're right, I may be putting too much $ into the kitchen ceiling. My reasoning was that the kitchen often gets too hot and I thought vaulting up to 12' may make it cooler. Also, the kitchen is in the back and can line up with the porch ( to keep the house rectangular)....See MoreBought obovata cuttings on Ebay but think I've been scammed. Help!
Comments (17)It looks like Hoya Australis. I would politely ask the seller if there was a mixup with your order. Maybe they sell a lot of Hoyas and your order got mixed up by mistake. It happens. Maybe they will offer you a refund or replacement. Some sellers even offer to send a new plant for free if you order from them again. If your seller is uncooperative, then can contact ebay and file a dispute. You can either keep the plant or sell it, its up to you....See Morergreen48
