Comments (2)I can believe that it's National Mail Order Gardening month. The catalogs are pouring in. However, the trade organization of organizational products is obviously not on the ball. Nowhere in your list did I see a National Organize Your Life week although that's all I've seen advertised in the newspaper circulars for the past few days....See MoreKAW for those insterested in the Pfeffernϋsse discussion.
Comments (10)Anise ... yuck. I'd rather eat worms. And cardamom reminds me of menthol shaving cream. :P I found a recipe similar to the one you posted, on YouTube. I found it interesting that they cooked the molasses and corn syrup and added the flour while it was hot, as in choux paste. It seemed to make a shiny, almost glazed-looking cooky. I've been making this recipe for 30 years, so it's possible that I've adjusted the spices to suit my taste--the original recipe has long disappeared. (Although I don't think it had anise or cadamom, or I would have passed on trying it.) OT, but I'm one who doesn't care for cilantro/coriander as well--I don't know if the same gene combination is involved in detesting all the above nasty spices....See Morecritique my "peanut butter and jelly sandwich" floorplan
Comments (11)Thanks for replying! Yeah, that downstairs bathroom is awkward. It's 4ft wide, which I'm not even sure is up to code, but I've seen smaller ones in my life. What I was imagining is that the shower would have a curtain rather than a door and you could walk past the toilet straight into the shower. I think that shower would rarely be used. Maybe if a kid was a huge mess and I didn't want them to track the mess up the stairs, or if hubby waits until 5 minutes before we have to leave to take a shower ( he does that) and the kids are occupying the upstairs. Also, if someone in the family is no longer able to use stairs or we have an aging parent live with us for a time, I thought we could use the office for a tiny temporary bedroom and the downstairs bathroom would be adequate for them. I was also thinking just today that if someone was residing in that room due to mobility issues, it would be great to have a door directly into the bathroom. Like 2 doors to the bathroom on opposite walls, one of which would be locked most of the time. Also... Next to the downstairs shower is a 3ft x 1ft black space. It continues up to the second floor next to the toilet. I don't know if it would work because I am certainly not a plumber, but that is where I imagined the wood stove pipe, shower fan exhaust, and plumbing being put. As it is a wood stove it doesn't need a real brick chimney, but I would put a fake chimney surround on the roof....See MoreISO peanut butter
Comments (27)Thanks for the link, localeater! Turns out Teddie is sold a mere 30 miles away from me...I don’t think I’ll be headed that way anytime soon, though. And it‘s at my son’s old university town, but he graduated already so not going back there anytime soon, either. But, I might be heading to Cleveland and will definitely look for it while I’m there. And I’ve been known to bring a product to the manager of my local 4-store grocery and say “order this, don’t make me drive to Whole Foods in the next town to buy it.” Love their missions, too (my DBIL is mentally handicapped). Here’s A funny thing: my friend’s husband and daughter both work for Kraft Foods, but when we go to Canada they ask me to bring back Kraft PB, because it isn’t sold here!...See Morebossyvossy
